I haven't been on RIU in a couple of years for the most part and the place seems like a ghost town. Something happen here that I don't know about? Feels like I missed something.....

Facebook is for idiots. And I make that statement as a person whose entire family uses it with the exception of myself and my father. I barely want to know people in real life. It would simply take too much energy out of me trying to keep up with fake friends on FB plus the assholes I've got to deal with in real life. To each their own...

Used to be xcops and cops that hung out in here, but pot isn’t the problem anymore so they’ve shifted focus to the opioid crisis. Nothing in here worth anything anymore. Used to be a few cool dudes then heads went blowing up all over just because somebody got a good harvest. Got to be too many know it all’s and still is. You’ll see the regular trolls but nobody has anything useful to say anymore and if you have an opinion they just shout you down so there’s no sense

You live in a crowded city that has become a weed circus in an alpine desert with some of the worst air quality we have.
And everything is flat and tan. Where you live is more like Kansas than mountains.
Only good thing about Denver are the music venues. Great bands love playing the old converted theaters.
It is beautiful an hour west of you.

Too many forums. It's been the death blow to pretty much every popular forum on the web and is in large part why forums in general are dying a very rapid death.
People keep adding and adding and adding trying to have a forum for ever single conceivable topic. All that does is split everybody up and eventually people get sick to death of having to visit 30 different locations to talk about the same thing to the same people.
In the end, one group is easier and less frustrating to navigate so most have gone to social media groups.

Ok, first off you never slander a whole state or group of people when some self loathing wimp hiding behind a keyboard slanders your state. You point out the mentality of someone who would stoop so low as to call your state a shithole. You can infer that this person is a wimp hiding behind a keyboard who is very unfulfilled in their life and how an internet forum being slow is the sign of a state of people who have better things to do than to try and boost their ego by following people around and trying to insult them. I mean just think of how shitty of a life a person like that must have. They probably aren't very liked, even by the people in their own state, if they have that much time to follow unknown people around and insult them because they said something that hurt their feelings. I mean they must have skin thinner than pudding to hold a grudge against people they never even met.
And calling someone gay is only an insult to small minded people so if you want to be better than that I'd refrain from using that as a slur. People like me laugh when someone tries to hurt my feelings by calling out my sexuality. I know damn well what my sexual preference is but the psychological profile, that's where you can really piss people off. Especially when you point out that the behavior they are displaying is a sign that their mommy didn't hold them enough when they were a child.

Michigan's going down fast. A handful of caregivers are throwing in the towel that I know. Had a meaningful conversation at the hydro store today. Quite a bit of of their customers have been getting denied by the state for their mmfla application. The state doesn't seem to keen about accepting applications. Some reasons they stated were that they were caregivers. I read that a group got denied because one of the board members owned property where he leased it to caregivers. Seems to me like the state is accepting only very large money and denying anyone affiliated with caregivers and MMMA
