Gillum’s miraculous night

Conservative voters don't "thirst for liberal candidates", they support progressive positions when polled about the actual issues; universal healthcare, raising the minimum wage to a living wage, universal college, a new domestic infrastructure program, etc.
You are saying they would vote for a person who is extremely right wing authoritarian OR they would vote for somebody who is completely the other way in terms of social policies and civil rights. The last governor's race, they supported somebody who supported pulling the state out of Medicaid expansion under the ACA. Now you say they will go all in on a plan to strip people of their current coverage and move them into Medicare with no cost estimates, no plan for rolling it out, and a huge increase in government oversight of medical system. I support universal healthcare coverage but I can't even accept the unfinished work that Sanders called Medicare for all.

This is a perfect example of exactly what I mean. You just spent the majority of your response denigrating universal healthcare. Then at the end you claim you support it..

People who actually support universal healthcare don't spend paragraphs complaining about it or how to implement it.. They explain how every other modern nation has implemented it, how it's actually cheaper than the private system while also being more effective, etc..

You say you support universal healthcare, but it just can't be done, it's just too expensive, generic right wing talking point.

You don't actually support it if you don't support the ways we pay for it, which is taxing corporations and taxing the top earners at a higher rate

Where did I denigrate universal healthcare? I described the current state of Bernie's plan. He released it without any funding, no plans on how to implement it. I've read the plan. I didn't even denigrate Bernie's plan, I just stated factually why I think it's a losing and bad idea. No price tag. No plan for such a large expansion of Medicare.. No consideration of people who are in a plan they like. Bernie's bill isn't even the only one out there .

There are other proposed bills in Congress meant to address the same problem with different ideas. What makes more sense to me is Medicare buy-in. I suppose you are aware of that legislation?

If you think my criticism of Progressives(TM) polices are harsh, you are going to get an earful that is ten times worse than mine. Don't blame me if Gillum fails. It's his job to win enough votes in Florida which has been pretty harsh about expanding government programs in the very recent past.

We are arguing policy and Florida is beyond that. After the primary, it's time to vote tactically.. Regardless of what I think of Bernie's healthcare bill, if I were living in Florida, damn right I would vote for Gillum.

The idea is to tax corporations and billionaires at higher rates to pay for it like every other industrialized country

Why pretend to be obtuse about it like Republicans?

People who like their healthcare plan can keep it. Those that want private elective procedures can get them. Everyone is covered, nobody dies because they can't afford healthcare.

Tell me what's the most difficult aspect of this concept you're having trouble with?

Your "idea is to tax, etc." is just a belief. There is nothing in writing that says any such thing.

There are several aspects of the bill I have trouble with. The bill contains no funding mechanism, no price tag, no plans for rolling it out. It says people have to pay for Medicare coverage even if they already have coverage they like and are already paying for it.

Politically, explaining to 50 million people why they should give up the plans they like is going to be a hard sell. Medicare buy-in doesn't have this issue. I think Medicare buy-in is better suited for implementation and more politically acceptable.

No you don't. You're actively campaigning against Gillum. Because if he wins, you lose. You're doing everything in your power to ensure Gillum doesn't win, and when he does, you're ensuring yourself enough wiggle room to make the claim you always supported him, when everything you've posted since his win shows otherwise.

Neoliberals are attempting to hijack the progressive movement that's currently taking place because they've realized they've lost in the realm of ideas. They've lost on substance.
Why is it ok for gillum to accept huge donations

It's unfortunate that we have to dive into our differences when Gillum has already won the primary and is facing Republicans who from all appearances are trying to turn the Florida governor's race into a racial issue. Quite clearly, Republicans don't want to run on issues, they have already ceded that ground in their initial response which is to race bait.

Gillum has a good chance of winning if he sticks to the issues and they make the race all about him being black. IMO

Bernies health care plan was a poor job of legislation. I get that you can't understand this.

That said, DeSantis' immediate tack towards race baiting is encouraging. It's a tell that somebody in his campaign doesn't think he can win if he competes on policy, including Bernie's abysmal health care "plan". I am surprised but also I am pleased.

Desantis wasn't race baiting and he never said anything racist. Plenty of Florida voters agree with that fact.

Plenty of Florida voters are racist motherfuckers whether they think they are or not.

I seen it.
Cool story. That necessarily means that plenty are not. Let me guess: Every voter in Florida who shares your exact political views . . . are not and cannot be racist. Conversely, every Florida voter who thinks your political views are wrong . . . are racist.

More importantly,

Who do you think mueller will indict next?

No, you got it wrong. I don't care what their political persuasion is. You could be a leftie, but if you talk about how black people resemble African primates - y'all's a racist motherfucker.

Mueller's next indictment is secret to me - but it's coming.

It's part of DeSantis strategy. The deep south invented the term race baiting. It's an old tradition in Florida. It's also unlikely he can win without using Trump's divisive rhetoric.

I understand you might not like how this makes you look like shit for supporting them. Wear it, own it and smile, coward.

LOL

That just burns into your ass like a branding iron doesn't it? Mueller's going to take them down one by one and every indictment is another L tattooed onto the Trump supporter's body.

Every time you post that I picture you taking another bite of the shit sandwich handed to you by liberals like me.

Why don't you ask me again. I love it when you say those words. LFAO

I really don't care about the mueller thing. I said that initially, but you're too stupid to remember that. When you say he's going to "take them down one by one", who all are you referring to? You must have a list? Was McCabe on that list lol? Who's been indicted so far?

Yes, you don't really care about the Meuller "thing". Very convincing.

5 guilty pleas, 17 indictments. How many? Yeah, right, I've got the inside scoop. Do you say they are done? Trumps doesn't. He talks about it at daily if not multiple times per day.

Here, take a bite.
