Dresser Grow Box

This will be my second attempt at growing first time things didn't go so well, but let's not dread on the past.
This time around I'm going to take more time Building my box the right way and the way I want.
I have nothing right now except my dresser built.

Still need:
Light
Fan/Carbon filter
Reflective material
Seeds

I have seeds I want to use for first attempt but they are bag seed so I don't know anything about them except they came with some good bud

If people can manage micro grows in a PC box then you should be fine. I'd be careful not to fry your plants tho.

Also, I'd line that box with something before you put reflective lining on. You might get mold or mildew if the humidity gets out of hand or if the fan fails for whatever reason. That's just me tho, I could be wrong. Good luck!

Not a bad idae about the mold protection.
I plan on using those car windshield sun reflectors cause there cheap and they are made to reflect light.
The light I am gonna use is a 150w hps with a concaved scrog.
I plan to fill scrog half way then switch to flower so height doesn't become and issue and when I dial in the % the scrog needs to be field then I can go from their cause on a different forum site someone showed be a grow they did scrog and they filled the net before flipping and they ran out of height with a 150w

I’m not sure which reflective material would be best but keep in mind that some reflective surfaces reflect a lot of heat. In other words, this heat reflecting off your box will be directed right at your ladies.

As for temp/rh, You should be fine with proper ventilation but you’ll be surprised how much heat that light will put off. Just in case, when everything’s built, run it dry for a day or so. It’ll give you a general idea of what the environment will be like. I learned the hard way and had to adjust things mid grow. It can be a pain with small spaces. Things get crowded.

Alright so let's say I don't run a 150w hps.
Would it be better to save up for a qb or get something like this

Haha sorry man, I didn't mean to make you paranoid or over-think things. They're just things to be aware of, going into your first grow. I could be wrong and the reflective material you're working with could do the job just fine. You'll just have to test it and see...That's why I would advise testing without a plant first. That way your plant doesn't turn into dried seaweed

150w should be pretty ideal for a 2x2 space. The HPS or LED knowledge will have to come from someone else. I've only had experience with QB's and they seem to be working great for me. No hot spots and my temps stay where I need them with minimal effort. If you decide to go this route. Horticulture Lightning Group(HLG) has some great products. But, either way, you should be fine with proper ventilation.

Np thanks though yea I think I'll get the hps I've seen people run micro grows with them and get nice dense frosty bugs and I'll try my original idea on the reflective and if it doesn't work out I'll try something else

Is my dresser tall enough to put a hlg 65 qb instead of a 150w how?
So I won't get burn from the led

Yes you're dresser is tall enough and the HLG 65 QB will be plenty to Veg, in a 2x2 grow area. You will need more light to flower tho. If you want one to do both then i'd find one around 150w at the 3k spectrum. Great thing about, most, HLG products is, they have a dimmable driver so you can always turn things down. I went this route. I bought the 320w but I'm not gonna run it at full power. I believe this will reduce the heat and prolong the life of my fixture.

I don't have a 2x2 it's more like 2x1 and I don't have the extra cash to get the higher wattage Imma try out the single hlg 65 4000k for both veg and flower I heard it can be done..
Would it be better to use 4000k or 3000k to do both veg and flower with single light

Thanks for your opinion though

If I did wait to get this I may not be able to grow until next spring or mid winter

Yes, the 100w would be a better option. This HLG 100 fixture is what I started with as well haha.

Christmas is right around the corner so maybe you'll get some extra loot for a new light? Veg cycle takes some time so you might be able to save some money meanwhile..

Btw, In a 2x1, even a HLG 100 will make things pretty warm in there (if you close the dresser doors). Your budget seems pretty tight, have you calculated the money you'd need for all the fans you'll need as well (intake, exhaust, etc)?
