I think mine is only like 40-50cm not sure.
I generally go as close as i can and just watch the leaves to see how the plant likes it. If the serations start to turn up its too close.

Yours is a DE 630,they run hotter that's why I got a 2.3m tall tent

Yep. I also lose 300mm straight away because of the orientation of my ballast on the fixture but my tents are 2.3m high and i have just enough room.

De hps and de cmh are two very different creatures as well though.

The de 630w cmh is still essentially just 2 315w arc tubes in a single glass envelope.
