Soybean sales down 94%

Thanks to trumps retarded and unwinnable trade war
And still, some of the fools that voted against their best interests are sticking with prezydint stool and are storing soybeans, hoping for the trade war to bring them their price before it rots. A huge gamble. "Ya' cain't fix stoopid,Ya' got that rite, Ah here ya', there ya' go".

They are our biggest trading partner and the worlds biggest trading partner. Why wouldn't you?
Personally, I've never supported the US or any democratic nation establishing close trade ties with China. Not until the country reconciles with what it did in Tienanmen square and now with Uighurs. I'm not holding my breath, however. Things are going in the opposite direction from what I can tell.

I get it, though. Why should Australia step back from commerce with China just because of human rights violations? Their money spends same as anybody else's. Still, when you sleep with dogs, you get fleas. It's true in the US and everywhere else.

It would be the pot calling the kettle black. Australia and the US has just as much Human rights baggage as has most other countries.

Nope. I have yet to hear of one US protester getting run down by a tank as happened in Tienanmen square. Or anything like the widely implemented policy of housing a monitor-agent in homes of people who have spoken out against injustice in China.

What China is doing in terms of violations of international human rights treaty goes far beyond what Australia or the US has done. Yours is a ridiculous argument. What is going on in the US and Australia is wrong too. That doesn't change the fact that what China is doing is wrong and on a much larger scale.

I show up and put time as well as money into opposing US's illegal treatment of minorities in this country. If I had done the same in China, I'd already be locked up. So, no. Yours is a false analogy and an invalid argument.

As I said, I get it. Their money spends the same as everybody else's. Russian money too. If you lay down with dogs you get fleas. I'd prefer that China be treated as an outlaw nation until it gets it's act together with human rights. I think a lot of problems arise from the kind of attitude you voice.

Yea the hanging of black people and the whole slave trade was nuthin. Decimating the native population and restricting them to reservations was a non issue. Australia taking babies and children from their Aboriginal mothers was nuthin. Locking up refugees and their children on island prisons is normal. Indonesia decimating the West Papuans at the moment yet trade talks with Indonesia are going well and not one Western country is stopping it....
Australian government is under some pressure to move its Israeli embassy to Jerusalem...Lets support what they are doing eh?
Stones and glass houses and stuff.

I would accept blame for today's actions against our minorities if I weren't actively opposing them. As a citizen of the US, I do accept a teensy bit of blame for imposing Trump on the world even though I've never supported him or the GOP. On the other hand, is foolish to blame a country or people for what happened generations years ago if they changed since then. We don't defend slavery nor does the nation tolerate lynchings.

Are you really saying that because we have GITMO with 40 prisoners still held there, that China's imprisonment of half a million Uighur people is defensible? I'd say both are bad. I oppose both. I think China's human right's abuses are beyond what any civilized country should accept in a trading partner.

But, I keep telling you, if you want to come out and say that their money is as good as anybody else's and you don't care about the half-million people China has imprisoned simply for being different from the Han, then I will accept your answer if not your reasoning. Go lay down with that dog. It's your right to get fleas.

Is this you quoting old history because you can't defend what China is doing today.

I understand that you can't defend what China is doing. So why not look back at something that happened 60 years ago that had nothing to do with China or it's human rights abuses. Grasping at straws is a time honored form of debate.

I didn't even think of gitmo but yes that's agood point- holding and torturing people in another "country" so you don't have to follow your own rules.

My point is America and Australia are far from innocent In regard to human rights.

My point is that China is a despotic nation and nothing like the US or Australia.

How many and what are you doing about it?

Also:

If you do protest against it, will you be arrested? Can you vote for representatives who oppose this? Does your government shut down news media outlets if they report on it?
