My point is that China is a despotic nation and nothing like the US or Australia.
yea, China is probably cruller than most, perhaps not as bad as Russia but worse than Indonesia. Not as war like in the last 60 years as America and Australia though, war after war we keep starting over lies. Millions of innocent people dead and countries left in tatters.
But we are no better in the grand scheme of things- just different.

How many and what are you doing about it?

Also:

If you do protest against it, will you be arrested? Can you vote for representatives who oppose this? Does your government shut down news media outlets if they report on it?
Google Free West Papua. Learn for your self.

Media was banned from the island prisons and at least one reporter flown out. The refugee prisons are not on Australian soil- sound familier?

Not even close to what China is doing. As I said before you make a ridiculous argument. Not only in scope but in the treatment of even speaking of these actions, you are showing how much worse China's human rights abuses are.

I ask again, if you condemn these actions, what are you doing about them?

Im not defending China's actions mealy acknowledging that the US and Australia are not saints. Maybe we should fix our own problems before throwing stones at others eh?
If you think the illegal invasion of Iraq was not a pretty bad human rights issue then Im not sure what is. If you think that the US and Australia supporting the Israeli regime in its Human rights abuse is not bad then im not sure what you would call it.
If you think that what the US has done to the people of the Marshal islands was not a human rights issue and their treatment today isn't either then I don't know what to say.If you think that the way Australia treats its refugees despite the UN on countless occasions protesting whats done then I don't know what is
America has Nazis marching in its streets- Jews being shot were they prey...That's not a human rights issue?

The human race is cruel.

You are equating China's government crackdown on dissidents and mass extrajudicial incarceration of between 500,000 and 1,000,000 people who have committed no crimes with admitted wrongs by other countries past and present. You keep using this argument. Is it the only defense for what China is doing?

If so then you are simply wrong. Yes, what other countries have done and are doing is wrong. They have zero bearing or equivalence with what China is doing.

Yes, what the US has done in many areas is wrong. What China is doing is also wrong.

Not only that but the actions I'm talking about are current Chinese government actions and not something that happened long ago. Or, as in your last line about Nazis marching in the streets, actions of private citizens and they are doing so in the teeth of massive counter demonstrations against them.

This all began because I said that my personal opinion is that the US and Australia should shun trade with China because of what the government is doing to maybe a million citizens who have done nothing wrong other than practice their religion. I can understand the capitalist argument that somebody is going to sell to them, why shouldn't Australia profit? That said, you can expect to get fleas when you lie down with dogs. China's government has little regard for rights be they, human legal or intellectual property and I think it is a mistake that we trade with them.

Care to compare China's and America's incarceration rates? How about American police profiling and designating people as terrorists or gang members secretly with no recourse?

I think you have a very biased and inaccurate view of China, nevermind the United States and their respective records of human rights abuses.

Maybe you should do more reading and less shooting your mouth off half cocked.

Bond yield curve reversed.
I've seen that on the financial pages but I dont' really understand it. Can you explain it in simplistic terms? or post a link that explains it better por favor?

I thought they said it was when they intersect at some point and that it doesn't always turn into a recession but a recession always has this pattern.

The fucking wisdom of some americans..

Remember when a sheet of 1/4" steel was $88.79?
I need a wood stove to stave off the high price of staying warm during the winter so I stopped off at the local metal supplier, I was quoted $408.27, Per sheet. (long silence while the shock set in)

WTF! I proclaimed, the cashier stated the price has almost doubled in just the last year due to tariffs.
At which point I said "fuckin administration" shook my head turned around to head out the door.

"It's not the Administration fault", He defended in a desperate tone, "the tariffs were suppose force China to lower their price but instead Manufacturers increased their price here."

I repeated,"'fuckin Administration" and walked out.

Billionaires who built their fortune on Soviet-era steel giants have spent nearly $9 billion in the last few years acquiring U.S. mills to expand their global presence. At today’s knockdown prices, investors believe it’s a gamble worth taking.

Canadian softwood, aka pretty much every piece of lumber you use to build a house, renovate, add an addition, etc - is pretty much doubled too due to stinky McDickrot and his retarded and unwinnable trade war
