I'm fine, thanks. Might want to send Elon a pair. He could probably use them after his stock tanked 18% last week.

You're the idiot. You post about something a Teska could do that the worst car ever constructed by man could do as if it's some sort of accomplishment.

That was the point, dumbass.
Yep...lack of vision....there's a reason yugo's aren't made any longer

The market is down 6%. Tesla is down 3 times that.

It's got nothing to do with Trump.

Edit to add: they're (Tesla) also having to repair their charging station over by Mall of Georgia. Another model 3 spontaneously burst into flames while charging and took out half the station.

Is it because the country imploded? I know right on time parts might not have worked so well after that.

Parts production by Yugoslav republics

What’s your point?
LOL, the stuff in that article* was one of those examples of a how the defenders of the status quo can be unintentionally funny.

The answer to global warming is more burning of natural gas?
Wind power is evil because it isn't providing enough energy to replace fossil fuels?o_O
The magnets in wind power turbines are made out of materials being mined in a dirty way and therefore we should just drop it?:eyesmoke:

Too funny that.

I looked up references to the author, Matt Ridley. Turns out he's an English aristocratic equivalent of Sean Hannity. I was just asking if you were trolling or serious because I didn't want to be accused of falsely characterizing you as an apologist for the fossil fuels industry again.

I said it was interesting not that I agreed with it. Did you see the next link I posted? What did you think about that? The unfortunate thing about natural gas is it’s cheap so the insentive to stop using it is that much less. And by removing the carbon tax here it makes it the much cheaper which everyone that voted for the conservatives wanted. I can not convince very many people that have access to natural gas to switch when talking to them.

I don't want to seem harsh but I can see how you might think so.

The first one was a good example of the kind of poisonous propaganda that the fossil fuel industry uses to seed doubt about green or better put, non-polluting sustainable energy.

The second was a bulletin by the Canadian lobbying group paid by the wind energy industry.

Both, in my opinion are suspect and not to be taken seriously.

My biases are on display here. I think that the corporate-capitalist system is one of the obstacles to us making a healthier environment for this planet. I looked into what @topcat was saying because the things he said really captured me. From what he said 40% of his island is natural preserve and most of his island's energy comes from renewable supplies. But what really captures my interest is that his island is unique in that the state owns the energy production sites. They don't have the profit motive and can manage energy in the best interests of their population.

Tesla is a good company, maybe, but again it is still just another corporate entity.

The kind of information I'm interested in doesn't come from corporations or their lobbyists. No disrespect intended to you.

Telling what? What have I told. I’m here having a conversation. If your looking for answers from me you’ll be waiting a bit. And why bring up Tesla, what’s your point? Did I say I was a Tesla fan? I do think he’s a pretty cool guy though just sayin.

I had second thoughts and came back to delete that bit about telling but you were there ahead of me.

The Tesla thing wasn't about you. I think Tesla is doing a lot of good things.

We are having a good conversation and some of what you say has affected my opinions. It's been worthwhile.

Our 3 wind farms in Tassie provide less than 10% of our energy needs.
https://www.woolnorthwind.com.au/
Yep, and the most of the rest is hydropower, which recently the power district derated to reflect about 10% less power than previous. In addition, they set aside a huge area to maintain as a natural resource. That would never happen in today's US where capitalist corporations control most of the power generation systems in the US and they are continually searching for more ways to extract resources and wealth from the public.

Instead, your publicly run company is beholden to the people of the island and can be managed in their interests with the sole interest being that of the public. I love it. We need that here.

Along with government provided healthcare.

sorry. I was making a pun. The extra weight and battery power etc.
Even with our fuel prices here - $1:50 per litre (what's that $5 something per Gallon??)...people still choose petrol cars over electric. Hybrid cars are becoming more popular for the more urban people- no argument.
