I run 4 on a hlg240h-c2100 in parallel, thats 525 mA per board, about 55w per board. Or maybe aabit more as hlg usually have a bit more amps than what they are rated for with no dimmer attached. Cover about a 2x4.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'll go ahead anyways. I'm looking a the QB960 board on alibaba from Hansien. That's 960 x lm301B diodes, more than 6 qb288's. Apparently top bin guaranteed. Advertised as 600w with the HLG-600... Recommend max 480w w/o heatsink. I'm thinking 2 of these puppies in my 5x5.
What do you think?
I bought 2, but I got the lm561c's... They're not epistar lol... Don't buy the hype.given the "genuine top bin" claim, the price, and the fact they are on alibaba......... I'm willing to bet they are NOT Samsung chips. The problem is, the only way to prove it is to buy one and run tests on it. Spend the money and buy REAL quantum Boards,
And as far as I know, Samsung doesn't do binning. There have been a number of these so called "Samsung" chpped boards running Epistar chips, you know, that same garbage that powers all the chinese burple lights............ but hey, its your money...

I don't really thing this is any type of hard and fast rule, I am running more than that in a 5x5 right now with zero issues.@pop22 . That would be too much. Remember qbs in flower need 32 watts per square foot. A 5x5 would be 750-800 watts. When I first got qbs I was shocked by how few watts the plants want from such a perfect spectrum. I have the power to run 1000 watts in a 5x5 but never could get above 700 without light stress. Its just too much

Actually, you can... Epistar, Samsung, nichia, Osram etc all have different characteristics although they are all 3030 (3mm*3mm) or 3056 diodes. Lm561c are 3056 diodes. You would have to be half retarded to think they were epistars... Think before you talk...and how do you know? You can't tell by looking at them!
Well since im at roughly 83.25 per board, im going to give this driver one more go in the new room before i opt for another 320, I've got a Bubba Kush about 2 weeks into flower. Its under 2 of the 304s.I run mine at 85 watts per board. I feel that is just about the sweet spot, the balance of efficiency and light output. I'm running a 4 board light in a 4x4 tent. I may add a couple more boards soonI may lower the power a little
Epistar makes a 5730 ..... Osram , Seoul Semi, LG Innotek, Cree, Samsung, Lumileds, Everlight, Edison, and several more make 5630 LEDs. Samsung makes 4 versions of 5630 alone not counting binning. You could literally get 25-50 different LEDs that are 5630 on a board. LG looks very similar to Samsung.... That's as far as it goes.... Looks similar. I would only pay with PayPal if buying overseas and then I would find a way to check the output vs known products. At least if they pull the ol switch-a-roo you can get your money back......Actually, you can... Does epistar even manufacture smd3056 chips? Or even 3030's? I just checked... This is what a Epistar 3030 looks like:

Here's a Samsung 3030:

You can't tell the difference? Really?
It will be full of light...... Maybe dim the HLG -240H-C1750 down to 225 actual watts and you'll be banking in that space.I recently ordered 4 of the 3000k v2 qb132 from HLG. They havnt shipped last time I looked but wanted to ask if these would be too much for a 32" x 32" tent for flowering. Currently have hlg100 running for veg looking great so far. Also if has experience with these boards I would love some feedback. Thanks.
Thanks boss appreciate it. The hlg100 is amazing so far. Cant wait to get the new 132sIt will be full of light...... Maybe dim the HLG -240H-C1750 down to 225 actual watts and you'll be banking in that space.
Can you post a photo of a lm301b top bin vs your 301b's?Epistar makes a 5730 ..... Osram , Seoul Semi, LG Innotek, Cree, Samsung, Lumileds, Everlight, Edison, and several more make 5630 LEDs. As far as real lm301bs they all look the same. You can't really tell a difference as far as bin goes. I can post a pic of our lm301b on the boards produced for us by Samsung. I can also post a 6500k on the new horticulture strip made by Samsung. Can you post a photo of a lm301b top bin vs your 301b's?
I can see different kelvin tick boxes on the strip. Does this mean they will be produced with different base colours? They are pretty much useless with 6500k.As far as real lm301bs they all look the same. You can't really tell a difference as far as bin goes. I ordered the HLG-240H-C1750A. Is this going to work just fine? From what I understand the type A drivers have a screw to reduce power to the boards on the driver and the type B allows you to install one? I hope the type A will work as I want to do as little wiring as I can on this first one Haha also wire in series correct? It will be full of light...... Maybe dim the HLG -240H-C1750 down to 225 actual watts and you'll be banking in that space.
I run mine @ 142w/QB304+. (4) in a 4'x4'. (2) 320h 2800a drivers, QBs wired in parallel. Have to keep lights 16-20" away but spread is pretty good at that height.Still curious what watts per board others are running at with 304s??
I got my new room built and have moved into it. Its as big as i could make it in the space i had, i have 2' x 7' for the main grow area, and another area that will be 3' x 2' for a future grow area. And still plenty enough room to get in there and move around and work.
Pretty sure im gonna get another 320H-C1400 driver and run two 304s per driver instead of 4.
As of now im maxed at 82.5 watts per board, so im just a little over half where they could be. At approx 0.271 watts per diode.
But is everyone running their 304s and 288s maxed out in flower?

*I have fans that I gorilla glued ontop of the heatsinks to keep temps under 115°F. The 12v PS running my fans powers the meter. Duct tape plugs are QBs, white plugs are fans.
They were bright enough to the point that the E27 lights were more or less just in the way, next time it'll be only QBs...
EDIT: if you buy from Alibaba know that you are trading some ambiguity in chip quality for a price cut. You won't get your money back from them without paying out of pocket for an independent lab test, and the time given to provide results of such a test is too short to even send them out. I didn't even hear back from a lab until a week or so after I reached out. The lights work, but are they s6 as they garuntee??? Don't go into the purchase thinking that you can buy comparison chips from other trusted suppliers to validate chip model, no matter how zoomed in, or striking the similarity or difference, trade assurance will not honor such comparisons as proof.
