If you want some of good old school tastes then grow old school weed. Too much of the stuff out today has been bred with nothing but high THC levels in mind. The flavors are nothing like smoking a real sativa or real indica. I grow them and they taste great. A properly grown landrace Pakistani Chitral Kush, Panama, Thai, etc... will have tastes that many have never experienced. The latest Triple Berry Haze Pineapple Diesel Power Punch Boogie Woogies might be strong and all but there is much more than high THC content. They are getting harder to find and from less breeders but there are still some great strains that haven't been hybridized to hell. ACE seeds has a good selection. Cannabiogen as well.
Tropical seeds has some good genetics as well. Don't forget Sensi either. They have a dynamite Durban with amazing tastes. World of Seeds has some good offerings also.

Yes indeed, MOST places it is far more fresh, dried and cured expertly, and packaged to maintain all its flavors and beautiful attributes. I can't say much about how weed taste back then as I'm only in my twenties. But I'm sure i didn't miss much. Mostly a nostalgic kinda taste and feel is what most these guys are missing. Weed these days tastes beyond fucking incredible with some of these concentrates you can get. I would not miss something that wasn't as potent and taste like dirt and hay

A lot of the smoke that I buy now don't get me as high as smoke years ago, it for sure don't smell like it did years ago. Someone suggested that I try New York Diesel, I did and it taste like diesel. Why anybody would want to smoke anything that taste like diesel I don't know?, or cookies, cheese plzzzz give me a break. I want weed that hasn't been played with by growers.
I have ptsd from Viet Nam and I don't sleep, and none of this stuff I've tried make me sleep. I smoke one joint at night before bed. Sometime it helps, and most times it don't.
Night before last I smoked 2 joints and that did help me sleep. I ordered Allien Vs Triangle from Mephisto and it has high thc, maybe it will work for me. I've spent a lot of money buying weed that don't work me. I'm about ready to give up weed and start drinking again which I don't want to do.

Sounds like you need to find YOU'RE right strand for medication. Sometimes it's more than just smoking the highest THC joint and trying to go to sleep, sometimes thats just not it. Look into terpenes and which are gonna benefit you the most. I know a lot of these strands are confusing and maybe you havent been getting the right stuff. Idk how you're buying your mediciations, but if it's from the shop ask some of the people there what is gonna work best for you. Some of those people do know what they are talking bout.

the landrace strains we smoked in the 60's and 70's have been crossbred over the years and grown in non native soil and environments. And lots of growers today pump a lotta nutes into their grows. So the consistent flavor of genuine Thai weed, Panama Red, Acapulco Gold is no longer available. There are still tasty strains available today, but a lot tastes like diesel/gas/chemicals.

My first smoke was in early 1972 in southern Iowa, weed was grown in Vietnam and brought to des Moines somehow. That summer back in southern California and there was a lot of BOEL lids of mainly leaf and some of that blond Lebanese hash. In 1979 I scored some gold, Acapulco or Colombian, doesn't matter as it was the best flower I had smoked. Just read how gold was created by banding plants.
Smoked stems, seeds and leaf from grinder at a friends, awful stuff. Both awful and amazing were available back then.
Quit for many years until a few years back. I found a few varieties I like and quite a few that do very little.
Anyway, check out Swami seeds, I like Blue Orca Haze. The Mazar/Guerrero looks interesting.

Seems like you dont know much about todays weed and how it benefits you. Do some research on terpenes and their profiles. I'm sorry you seem nice as well but very uneducated. You're right i don't know what I'm talking about because i never smoked the weed back then, but i wouldn't have too, to make a comparison that weed today is still good and blowing weed from back then out the water. I never smoked weed back then and fairly, i said i don't feel like im missing much. You said you haven't smoked in over 20 years, well do some research on what's available today before crying out that todays weed sucks. Try something else besides a joint also. You seem very closed minded with all these great suggestions. Open yourself up to trying new things.
