Id have to believe there are people out there, paying attention to what has been going on, in the underground...What fellas like us are putting together, and the results that have been realized....
Claiming Meanwell but using something else is a big red flag. If they'll lie about one thing, they could lie about anything.I think I'd go with this considerably cheaper fixture. Wow I can't believe the amount of money you save with this over even DIY'ing an HLG550!!!
This even claims using MeanWell but pics don't add up.

Exactly why I mentioned it. I'd definitely be in some talk with them before any further interestClaiming Meanwell but using something else is a big red flag. If they'll lie about one thing, they could lie about anything.
It is awesome that you find the reliable supplier at first. I really had a bad experience with a chinese supplier. Good luck! This is NOT the same browsing experience as with either of those brands.
This is a company (in China, where everything's fuckin made) that builds a fixture along with probably a few others, but also creates, layer, print traces, screen solder, pick and place LEDs, and reflows them to the boards with an oven. They MAKE their own PCBs and sell them individually or as kits as well.
There are Several reputable Chinese Alibaba/Aliexpress vendors that many of us have had great experiences with and whose products are still working today. Basically as bright as the first day you plugged it in.

I'm aware of that. It's just a similar light and cheaper. Claims lm561 & lm301bI think thats a different company than the one i'm looking at
It's fine. Lol. He's just joking around... Sort of. Haha haha.Is it not good to run power supplies at 100%?
CXB3590's are still just as good as anything. Not as efficient, but definitely not something to feel like it needs to be upgraded. Even if your lights were on 24/7 for the last 2 yrs, you're still around 95% as bright as the day you turned em on.so is it even worth it anymore to continue my slow upgrade to COBS or do i just need to stop and throw down on something like this or qbs and use my current cobs (10 cxb 3590s) for vegging? lol
well I have been trying to slowly upgrade a 5 x 5 using either 20 or 25 cobs but it seems like they are not as easy to find anymore... everyone is on qbs or veros etc... I have thought about just biting the bullet and going the alibaba route... but I am so unsure of what I will get with the kits availableCXB3590's are still just as good as anything. I guess I just have to stop being lazy and do some ACTUAL DIY instead of just wiring together some pre built cobs on heat sinks etc lol thanks for the heads upCOBS are hard to find? Where you live?
Arrow, Digikey, mouser, rapidled, cobkits and several others ALL sell Crees,Vero's, and Citizens...
Shit is cake man. Harbor freight sells a top notch SAE/metric tap and die set for $39 you can return after you use the one tap you'll need, that will allow you to tap anything you may need to. Aluminum soft AF but it never hurts to add a bit of lube to the hole when you do it. Even just clean motor oil works great.I guess I just have to stop being lazy and do some ACTUAL DIY instead of just wiring together some pre built cobs on heat sinks etc lol thanks for the heads up
Any tips on which of those sites is easier to order from? I see the kits on alibaba that just have everything included ie cobs holders heat sinks all that. Is that legit or would you advise just gathering up all the materials myself individually? I dont mind buying tools at all and I'm sure I will use them again at some point.Shit is cake man.
