I know this varies depending on the grower and the plant, however I was looking for a ballpark answer. How many weeks should I veg before flower

Well, as you also indicate yourself mate, many different factors have a role in this question. The strain, lights, space etc, Plants from seed eg. I veg, for 6 weeks before starting flowering. Some strains show signs earlier, but in general I would say 6 weeks for seedlings. Clones on the other hand are quicker to begin flowering, you can start clones up directly in 12/12 and end up with very large plants 40 inches plus in my experience with 600 watt HPS for instance. Size does matter...
i personally veg for 5-8 weeks only. my plants in my current grow in my signature was vegged for 5 weeks.

those ones for 6 i believe. my current grow im highly expecting to out do those plants though in both growth and bud weight/quality. tons of variables to take into consideration though the best way i decide when to flip is the stretch. 2x for indica's and 3x for sativa's. 2nd way is pot size im using i don't want the pots to be root bound when im in the middle of flowering. 3rd way is basically height of my ceiling and how high i can run my lights without dealing with issues such as light burn or heat stress. 4th way probably just the width of the grow room. how wide do i think the plants will get after the stretch and how will this affect my lighting situation as too high up plants are losing light quality. if you look at my grow you can see 1 plant is taller then the other 2. im not training them so more then likely the other 2 won't catch up and possibly have smaller yields is my guess just like the plants in the photo i linked.

Thanks a lot, you andwered my question. I’ve got 600w led in my veg tent, 1000w led in my flower tent
actual wattage 600? mine are 2000watt 375-390 actual draw. don't look at the labeled wattage look at the actual draw.

Newbie here so my opinion doesn't mean much but these are 5 1/2 weeks first day if flip just for a time/size comparison. I just vegged till my footprint was getting full then flipped to accommodate stretch I still have way more height to work with then I initially thought. So I'm glad for that.
Edit: 5 1/2 weeks from sprout I didn't account seedling stage, it's all one to me.

A 2x4x6 nestled in a 2x5x8 closet it's a pain in the ass if I need to mess with anything on the outside but it hides so nicely and there shouldn't be any light leaks in my $30 wish tent
nice yea that is kinda what i run pretty much 2x4x6-9 no tent though just a closet. 3 plants fill it up pretty quickly

I have to be able to take care of smell so the cheap tent serves it's purpose and I used the savings from a gorilla tent to get a better light

They’re cheap lights but seem to work well, they are a maxissun 640w and a maxissun 1440w

It is not the regular blurple, it has some interesting technology going for it. and I'm pretty interested in the capabilities. It was engineered for a 2x4 footprint and if you've ever looked is kind of a hard footprint to effectively fill
