Excuse my ignorance,being new to this game,but why does the thc degrade if the conditions the product is stored in are close to perfect

No idea but the THC slowly breaks down to CBN.
Keep in mind though that THC does not measure the high, there is more going on than THC content alone. Proof of that is simple-look at all the cannabis cup winners.
