Thank you. The new pots I ordered will be here soon. I'll transplant, wait for em' to recover then FIM. Do you do it more than once in a grow?I always wait till the 5th/6th node, and she looks good and healthy. it will slow growth a little but she will snap back quick.
Ultimately it's your call do it when you feel confident about it .
Holy cow! If I were in grammar school I'd be raising my hand for the teacher right now! I get what you're saying but my brain can't pull off the full visual. I appreciate the effort. I should probably take this one FIM at a time for now. When I get further along in my grow I'll read this again and go "oh yeah, I get it" THANK YOU!Guess it really depends on what you want to do with the plant structure. I try to build an 8-cola plant so I top @ the 4th node, let the 3rd node develop secondary shoots while the 4th node also grows shoots. When they both have a few leaf sets, I top them back to the 1st set of shoots. That becomes the 8 main colas.

FIM them now and transplant later if you want. It's really no big deal to the plant but seems it is for you with that ALL CAPS plea for help.
Good luck!

Thanks for the diagram. There's lots of them out there but that's the most detailed. I FIMed them yesterday. I'm no longer a FIM virgin! It's such a simple thing to do but when you've never topped before it can be a little nerve-wracking. Yesterday was also my very first time making Rick Simpson Oil. It was also nerve-racking pouring alcohol over a bunch of Bud for the first time. There's this feeling of "I hope this works!" Anyway, I think I did a good job FIMing my plants. If not, I'll chalk it up to a learning experience & apply that knowledge to my next 4 plants. Thanks for all the help. I guess I just needed a little reassurance and support.View attachment 4332547

I'd let that plant get bigger before I did anything
On that 2nd pic it looks like you missed altogether. From the light damage on the top fans it seems you snipped too high up. You have to get the very center bit like in the diagram for it to work.
Can't tell for sure on the first pic but looks much the same.

How come?
Great I finally got it! Thank you! No it's not worth freaking out over.I garden a lot & with all plants you have to learn as you go. Besides I received a couple extra seeds for free so I feel okay experimenting. I can try FIM at the 4th or 5th node again with a new seedling. I might leave one alone. No trimming. Anyway, I appreciate all your help! Thank youLooks like you got it that time.
I've got to where I just pinch them off with my thumbnail most of the time and most of the time it works.
I've done them at the 2nd node to get a 4 branch manifold going or 8 nodes up to branch everything up for a ScroG. It all depends on how you plan to grow out the plants. There's really no wrong time.
A lot of people are always stressed and worrying about every step they take when growing. I say chillax and see what happens when you try new shit. It's supposed to be fun or why bother. Is an extra 10% worth an ulcer?
