guys ive actually got my extractor in the grow room itself, but im venting out through a 10 mtr pipe up out through the roof top, im looking at a bigger extractor as im struggling with temps, so should i fit my old one inline somewhere along the 10 mtrs ?

new one is 8 inch, currently using a 6, pls advise

to finish off, 8 inch 1 mtr from the lamp , connected via flexipipe, then 6 inch say 4 meters up the pipe ?

Piping should be full diameter all the way to the discharge point to get max flow. Don’t reduce the pipe diameter.

i am unable to make it any bigger due to being an old heating extractor flu pipe, its built into the chimney, access is impossible. main pipe is 140mm, all i can do, is force more air through it.

1. What size room are you using?

2. How many lights of what type and wattage?

3. What is the current 6” CFM or M3/h?

4. What are your current environmental variables?

5. What temp is your intake air?

What fans are they? On such a long duct Pa rating is very important.

My old fan could push up a chimney through a 5 meters of duct and at the same time create enough negative pressure to drag air passively through another chimney from the basement 30ft below.

Use a centrifugal blower and oversize. Mixed flow or axial fans don't handle static pressure loss well.
