Incredibly dense buds turned airy after harvest

So yeah. I just took down a batch of Gorilla Zkittlez after the exact amount of flower days suggested, and the buds were friggin beasts, couldnt squeeze em if you tried. They are literally airy 36 hours later, they are going to weigh nothing what I expected, is this to be expected? I didn't use the sexiest lights, I had one 1000w and one 1200w chinese LEDs, but they certainly managed to get the buds gigantic and hard as rocks during the grow. I understand the water loss and shrinkage but jesus.....I guess my question is, do I blame the lights, or do very very dense living buds have a tendancy to crumble to nothing after a few days of water loss?

Also out of curiousity, right now I could pinch through them quite easily they are so weak/fluffy.....after they are dried and cured for a bit, will they at least toughen back up a wee bit even if they don't gain a bunch of weight like I'd love? lol

Probably dried them too fast they are suppose to take 7-14 days to dry
Oh no, they're nowhere near dry yet, it's just day 2, they're still moist as hell, but they've already shrunk at least half the size, and don't even ask me about density, like I said while they were on the plant I couldnt squeeze them if I tried (Don't worry I didnt try) ....but now if I tried (Don't worry I still didn't try) I could squish the shit out of the little wussies. I understand physics a bit, and it makes sense that they'd lose some size/strength as the water evaporated, but damn dude..is it usually that bad? Any idea what I could've done in the last 48 hours that degraded the buds so badly? I trimmed them beautifully, they're all on dry racks now...

They do get a bit soggy if thats what you mean. they will shrink and harden up as they dry out. What&s your humidity and temp at?
Humidity is 65 unfortunately but I have a strong fan in the room, not pointed at the buds. Temp is 70 on the button.

Thats good a bit high humidity but as long as you have decent indirect air flow you should be good. I just dried my last round at those same numbers. They will harden up though stop squeezing the poor little things lol

All I can think of is maybe them lying down could have shrank them a bit more than usual I always have hung mine up so not sure.

ThTh usually feel like rubbery 2 days after chop. Give her 2-3 weeks you will notice they are getting dence. Another month and some get hard as rocks.

Most likely you harvested too early.

Drying too fast will affect the smell and taste but not structure or density. Structure and density come from how the plants are grown and their genetics.

If they were dense in flower the density will return as it gets more dry. The first couple of days after cut the flowers are in a wilting phase but it will tighten up as it dries. You can expect about 75% shrinkage though
