Yup, good outdoor botrytis resistance in a potent nice smelling late September outdoor plant is the holy grail I'm seeking. That's what I'm doing, producing thousands. I've also pollinated small areas but it's just to finicky for me when I need a higher production rate. To mine the DNA of any of the current plants and find keepers takes running about 100 seeds.
I only grow indoor and I work toward pain relief strains. I hope you get the mold resistance you are looking for. I assume you mean botrytis?
I have many that got away LOL!
Been thinking of ordering some seeds from Beanhoarder to recreate the "one that got away" . Had a Jack Herer x PCK that I crossed with an Iranian years ago that was exemplary in every way. I could literally feel the energy of the plant when I'd visit it in the bush years ago...(okay maybe it was the joint I smoked on the trek in)
Tried popping seeds from the same batch, over several years and got close, but due to the genetic variation within the Jack Herer (?) about 8 out of 10 were not even a close pheno. Those seeds are gone now, but I think Hemp Depot still has one half of the cross in a freezer and I've got Iranian seeds kicking around somewhere.... Got lucky once....maybe again.
If you pop a hundred seeds from the same pollination, about how many pheno types would you expect to see and do the ones that look alike smell, taste and behave alike ?
