Day 48 @DustyDuke. 3 out of 4 are very similar - tight buds with a nice fuelly grape nose (no mango). 1 out of 4 seems more hazey, looser buds and a bit slower to mature. I think the potency will definitely be there though bongsmilie

Looking good mate super frosty I haven’t seen something that tight since I was in high school, the buds almost look like grapes on a few of em.
Mine have 6 weeks of veg left. I’ll probably top once more that will give me a good canopy and I’ll let em run.

I discovered some auto buds I grew as freebies last year (completely forgotten) & decided to give them a try over the past couple of days. They taste like absolute shit to smoke (soapy), but did the job, so I figured I'd turn them into coconut oil caps instead.

Normally, I'd decarb in the oven, then infuse in coconut oil in a glass jar which I just leave on top of the wood heater for a couple of weeks or so over winter, then strain & do the packaging whenever I felt like it.

@Lucky Luke , I know you like to make caps, but you go the intermediate step of making hash oil with IPA first & then infusing the result into coconut oil. I figured there's a better/quicker way & disappeared down a rabbit-hole of research with the idea of using a pressure cooker for both infusion & decarboxylation in a single step.

Since I live on top of a mountain, I looked into pressure differentials & concluded that I was was just uneccessarily chasing rainbows. Being a homebrewer, this can actually affect boiling temperatures/times etc., but for this application, pft......

I've got a Fagor "Duo" pressure cooker that has 2 different settings. Low pressure is 8psi (0.55 bar) & high pressure is 15 psi (1 bar).

Since everyone seems to reference this chart, I figured I'd use it as a guide:

Conclusion (& I'm no scientist!):

Finely ground/cut/dried (dry as a Nun's naughty-bits) buds can be successfully decarbed & infused directly in coconut oil in a glass jar at 1 bar (~120C) for about 30-35 mins in a pressure cooker in a single step. Just chuck the whole lot in the jar & set it on a trivet in the bottom of the pressure cooker with sufficient water to last the processing time. Bring up to temperature/pressure & set a timer.

Strain, cool & package.

No intermediate steps or expense required.

PS. You could do the same thing with butter for baking edibles......
