It will get done eventually.

If someone had told me 30 years ago that cannabis would be legal in more than half the states in the union, I'd of laughed at them.
Things are moving fast.
People are noticing that while its legal at state level for 75% of the population of the US, and the world hasn't crumbled yet.
It will change.

Of course it matters.
It matters to the countless men, women and children who've had the course of their lives altered because of the illegality of a harmless plant.
It matters to those who truly benefit from it medicinally but are forced to choose between a cage or chronic illness.
