Why the Gov thinks they should own tobacco and alcohol sales is a mystery to me. And now Cannabis as well. Fuck them. Go make an honest living like most of us end up having to do. This " we own this " crap can stop right now from my standpoint. I've had enough of that. And that's why I don't and will never support any of those 3 things. This /\/\ There will be consolidation in the sector this year as the margins are dropping as the price of wholesale is going down as supply increases. Theres already 2 years of supply held by the major LP's right now and thats growing everyday. Once the true growers start entering the market they will take a nice part of the high end market as the large lps cant compete on quality. But just like alcohol there will be demand for the lowest cost crap. As far as selling out the back door, well ya im sure alot of the smaller and medium size lps are doing it, its probably the only way some are keeping the lights on. I think its 4 or 5 now that have been caught for it so far. And like canntrust did they are probably shipping it internationally to get the most for it. Greasy bastards

I agree... cept the part about quality. Itll never compete with BM.
Once the cost goes down... cheap and convenience will take over... and once a generation goes by they young uns will never know what quality weed is.

For legal to take over all weed would have to be $4/gram retail out the door. Not gonna happen lol. Not enough profit share for gov, LP and retailers to make enough profit to stay alive.cost goes down..?
When that happens..They will be out of business, with they're "not very well thought out plan" .........

From my own un scientific research in my own shop most growers that are in now would go down to $700/lb and keep growing. That's $43.17 per oz. Your local high school entrepreneur can sell it for $85/oz and still make $40 profit! and undercut the legal stuff my $20+
If the gov allowed illegal growers to transition in like how it happened with booze we could possibly have eliminated the back market by 95%. but dreams of public companies and share selling was just too much of an addiction.
