Yeah I don't see many other options of how I could pull this off. They don't have a 100W driver in the C series. Was hoping they did and I could just dim it a little.
I guess I could get the HLG-80H-48b for one of the shelves and buy 2 v1 boards to run in parallel.
The other shelf though since i want to use my v2 board, I guess I will need to email HLG and try to get lucky that they have another v2 board that matches my spec so I can use it in parallel...
or I need to just suck it up and buy 4 new V1 boards and 2 of the 80H-48b, and find another use for my v2 board + HLG-120H-54a driver.
I would have the HLG-120H-54a driver sitting unused anyway at this point... hmmm decisions.
Why do you say not to wire in parallel on a CV driver? Many people do!No, you wire them in series not parallel on these Cv drivers. If you want to run 4 boards, get the 150H-54. The 150H-54 gives a little more actual amperage than the 48. I have an 80H-54 that pulls 109 watts from the wall, minus driver losses is still about 104 watts!

You're running 2 24v boards in parallel on a 54v driver? Something seems wrong with that picture. Perhaps you have parallel and series confused? Parallel won't split the voltage, it splits the current.I ran 2 24V boards in parallel on an 80H-54. My mistake I meant a CC-CV like the 80H. You can't run a 50Vf cob/board in parallel on this driver as it maxes at 54 volts

Was that Ace's Malawi? How'd you like it?New blood for the OG 304 V1 boards ( going strong since dec. 2015 ) running perpetual.
Gotham Limited - Trainwreck x 79 Xmas bud ( pine tar kush ) IBL
Thanks to Icemudgrow for the crosses and Bangi haze F9 pollen . Was told about the pinene heavy buds , so I’m curious what these two will bring ..... Thanks to @Stephenj37826 for the “ special “ on a HLG 225 ... looking forward to getting that rig in a grow space.
The Afghani landrace variety is something I’m looking forward to since running Malawi ( African ) last year. Those ran way long but always preferred more manageable timed grows. Since Trainwreck tends to be a hybrid of Afghani / mex / Thai , should be a good strain overall since these seeds are worked a bit. I suspect from seeing icemud’s plants in tent , mine will have the leafy flowers , perfect for pressing . I never worry about stupid bag appeal since I grow only for myself . That purp gorilla is a good example of a plant looking to be rosin pressed. Or lingual tincture drops .
QB 304 V1 boards are still bright and growing weed happily. Even those COBS were bought from HLG ( when they sold cobs ! ) early on. 3500k on all light engines . No hurry to upgrade boards. That stacking plant is GSG and doing her thing.
Banghi haze pollen will be used on something .... lurking Phylos galaxy for complement strains to play with.

Personally, I think leafy bud makes for better joints. The really dense stuff typically goes in the bowl or bong. (Sounds like @Budzbuddha is making concentrates anyway though.)Really not a fan of bud like that. I need my golfballs please thank you.
it was Seeds of Africa malawi gold. It ran for 15 weeks . Long wispy buds . Heavy dreamy high but can get you hyperfocused on some shit ... lol. Buds not very pretty but smokes nicely with a pretty quick mellow creep up.Was that Ace's Malawi? How'd you like it?
Emailed HLG hoping to get lucky, but confirmed that if you want to run in parallel you need to buy all the boards at the same time. The other shelf though since i want to use my v2 board, I guess I will need to email HLG and try to get lucky that they have another v2 board that matches my spec so I can use it in parallel...
I thought that was a perfect reply.I probably could of worded that better but seen a few people this last few weeks saying things like "pretty sure they are just buying boards from china and slapping a huge mark up on them" . It winds me up.
My v2 kit was honestly too much light for a 2x2. My driver pulled about what yours does from the wall, and I had to dim it down to keep the plants happy until they were a few weeks into flower. Make sure you buy some sort of CalMag too, you are gonna need it!View attachment 4478991
This is a "Dr. Meter" $25 LUX device, set at 100X, resting on the floor of an empty 2'x2'x4' cheapo tent, with the doors mostly closed. Running inside the tent, is the V1 135W kit, at full nuts. The board itself is hung with the provided cables, each being looped around the top bar, and back into its own clip, allowing around 5" of clearance from the inside of the tents' roof.
If I get the sensor within 8" of the center of the board, it buries the needle, on the good Dr.
It rests around 50K Dr. Meter LUX, at around 20".
