i think my qb caused this issue

i was running 3x 240w 288 qb's at 14" height full blast

i now raised them to 24" and at 60%

i do not know the correct for vegging with these lights nor if i need to use all 3 for veg

everyone is telling me more lite the better dunno anymore
I think you are correct about the light being too close. You did not mention your lights in your other post.

The pictured plant is dead now, ya? Do you have other plants?

How big is your grow space?

I used these Homer buckets years before switching to bags.
Never a problem, never painted.
I've also used square 4g whites with no problems.

sounds like you need to get what you can first and then make it work. square would be better but round works too.

i am confused as fuck dunno what to do

Look at my sig dude. lmao, people always get advice from both sides. You have to be here a while to know how to filter it out.

I used to use nice gren buckets but lost my supplier so now I use the blowes blue baby buckets. They work fine. The DWC bucket toppers are black. The only way to get algae in them would be to have massive bottom lighting or no canopy. Use your blue buckets and see how it goes. good luck.

is there a big difference in 3 gal and 5 gal buckets?
IMO, 3g is a little more difficult with an amended soil, they need fed a bit more along the way.
I've had problems when using smaller than 7g with organics, it's doable but sometimes the plants struggle.
5g would be the minimum for me.

i generally agree with your advice but 8 bucks worth of spray paint to get lightproof and then reflective? really?

The bottom bucket of the waterfarm is about as opaque as those dark blue buckets you have.. Just checked an empty WF bucket of mine.. So i'd say go ahead and use them..
