None of my regular seed germinated but my auto did why?

I have asked question like soo many times in few months you might have remembered my name .

But long story short i bought 50 seeds and I tried every method from germination nothing happened.
After 2 months i got auto flower feminised seeds. They are very expensive so i was tryna avoid buying seeds online but had to .

I got 5 seeds i germinated 3 out of 3 using paper towel method without any trouble it was almost effort less.

So my question is are auto flower really that easy to germinate and regular seeds aren’t or my seeds supplier is bad (he looks like a great guy tho) they also sank in water just like autos but never germinated nor poped in soil .

Nope, generally all the seeds I plant germinate ...... I've had one free photo fail.
Probably an error in your germination method.
How about too cold, the first time, and the second time was the right temperature for germination as working hypothesis?
If you had tried to germinate 5 auto and 5 original at the same time and the 5 original failed, then we could discuss dead seeds.

Sound like that "great guy" sold you some old seeds. All the seeds I've bought this past year have had great germ rates, all regular seeds.

But I have some vintage seeds from back in the day, 15+ years old, and I've yet to get one to sprout.

nope everything’s same ,same temperature, same procedure. Maybe one day i’ll try doing both of them together when i get excess seeds

I have a 100% success rate three years running popping seeds in soil. I just use a seed starting soil mix in a small peat pot and put em on the bathroom window sill. Nothing fancy. Keep em moist. Then four or five days later, bam! Then after two weeks I transplant them into whatever organic soil I'm using this year.
I've NEVER had success with the paper towel method or anything similar. Simple in soil.
Dig one of your seeds up, see if it started to crack at all.

I always just go straight into soil. But my environment is spot on though. Never had the need to use paper towels, or let seeds sit in water in a dark place for 24hrs. Not that those methods don’t work, I just never had to use them. Small starter pot, promix soil, veg light, humidifier and 2x2 tent and mine pop every time. Temp always 82, humidity 65-70%. Only use 6.5 ph water mixed with a drop or 2 of super thrive, and that’s it. Hope you find this helpful.

Hence the reason I always go straight into soil. Never had an issue. Even more of a reason to do it with autos because they have a strong tap root. But hey, just trying to give you another route since the one you’re taking isn’t working. Good luck and best of wishes on your grow journey.

I'm going to suspect here that the 50 seeds you bought are either too old to be viable, or have been exposed to a high-heat situation for an extended period, again making them non-viable.

I'd just line up a couple of biodegradable egg cartons, fill each spot with medium, and put a seed in each one. If any sprout, cut out the part of the egg carton and transplant the whole thing, carton portion included into a larger pot.

Yeah, as the other have said, autos are not easier to germinate. Your supplier of regs sold you bad seeds or you screwed up. I've lost one seed in 3 years now and it was actually an auto I just planted.

Nice I thought autos were like piece of cake and thats why they germinated for me and the others didn’t and I couldn’t say anything to my seller since the seeds are sinking so have to live with it and wont buy from him again .

When you guys are putting seeds directly in soil and waiting for them to pop, how often are you watering and how moist do you keep the soil? I just planted my autos in 5 gallon fabric pots in soil and I want to know how moist to keep it. Right now I'm just misting the top to keep it moist

I weted all my soil On the side more water on the middle where seed is very less water just enough to wet the seed , even if you give it more water it will grow but dont over do it .

I added about a glass or two in my 2-3 gallon soil (less water in middle) i live in hot climate so you would be good with just one glass

Honestly, when I plant a seed in soil I almost never have to water it again until after the seed has sprouted. I soak my soil ahead of time and let it dry till it's moist then plant the seed. I'll only water it if it's drying out, but with good heat and humidity it's pretty much always a seedling by then.

When the identical process germinates 100% with one batch, and 0% with another, it would be natural to ask if the difference is the seeds vs the process.

This thread has told u repeatedly its the seeds, not you! Believe it, and dont start more threads about it. Question answered. You got f'd because the seed batch u got caused u to question u vs the seeds themselves.
