ive found it doesnt really matter. my plants seem to dry in around the same time whether they were recently watered or not.My plants will dry out after 24 hours since their last hand watering. My questions are...
1. Do I water my plants just before I harvest?
2. Does the plant need water to break everything down?
3. What happens if you harvest a plant that's about to wilt?
I flushed my plants with 1/4 strength nutes, then have had them on plain water for 1 week so far.You need to flush before harvesting or sometimes you can end up with harsh tasting bud
So if a plant was about to wilt, or the lower leaves were just starting to wilt you wouldn't hesitate to chop then?ive found it doesnt really matter. my plants seem to dry in around the same time whether they were recently watered or not.
No you don't and if you do then the plants have been fried with nutrients. You need to flush before harvesting
I know some people choose to feed feed nutes right up until harvest. I'm not one of those people. That is not what I need to know. I like to know plain water has been given to the plant for a week.No you don't and if you do then the plants have been fried with nutrients.
Who said he should add any nuts?No you don't and if you do then the plants have been fried with nutrients.
This was debunked years ago. Once the nutrients and salts have been absorbed by the plants they cannot be removed or reduced simply by flushing the soil or coco. The only point to flushing is to save money by reducing the amount of nutrients being used or to fix issues in the soil or coco caused by over feeding. You need to flush before harvesting or sometimes you can end up with harsh tasting bud
I usually let my plants go dry before harvest actually. Just personal preference though. I find it lets me remove more fan leaves by plucking them off instead of trimming them so I get less stem in my buds. Also, it makes me feel like I'm getting a little head start on the drying process. I'm not necessarily recommending you do the same, just saying it won't negatively effect your harvest. My plants will dry out after 24 hours since their last hand watering. My questions are...

I like your thought process. Try half and half. Water half your plants and chop em 4-6 later, and leave the others almost start to wilt then chop em. Keep a journal and compare how long it took each set to dry, then see how they smoke and give us your results and opinion. Nothing beats experience. That's what we are all he for. Sharing our experiences makes us all better growers. My plants will dry out after 24 hours since their last hand watering. My questions are...

Bro science. Not true at all.You need to flush before harvesting or sometimes you can end up with harsh tasting bud
It's a good idea... I did a dry 2 days on my last run and the buds shrunk loads... strangeI like to water mine because I dry for two weeks or as close to it as I can get so the extra water helps with the slow drying time.
He is not asking about flushingBro science. Not true at all.
Thanks for your input. I understand totally why you want to do it like that.I like to water mine because I dry for two weeks or as close to it as I can get so the extra water helps with the slow drying time.
An old native man taught me to strip the plant besides the buds and cut off the roots then hang them right side up so the water flows into the stem he used to let them go dry for 14 days before chopping and his buds where dried and curing in Jars within a month, those old fellas are the absolute best teachers..Anybody here hang the plants? Do you remove fan leaves, fan leaves + sugar leaves, or nothing?
