Anyone have input on humidifiers

I relied on this hydro setup to offer up a bit of evaporation and help me out but it’s leaving me hanging. Anyways, I’m eye balling a 6L auto cool or hot mist as my old one just isn’t going to cut it on the new setup. I figured I would ask before rather then someone tell me later I grabbed a pile of shit. Also, do you think the plants would enjoy the lavender oil or something else??

Levoit 6L cool/hot mist here’s the specs. My room that my room is in, is about 600sq ft. Looked around, not much info I can find. I am aware of the hot mist and added grow room heat, I like the option of both though. Thanks guys, this units about 100cad. FDE4D4B4-31AE-4AB0-961E-75C75E760C13.jpeg

600sq feet is pretty large. just make sure you can use it with a humidity controller. Like if you plug it in, you dont need to push any other buttons to make it run.

I would personally get something like an ideal air humidifier

From what I understand, this has a control setting that will sense and control at, lets say 50%rh by means of cycling on or off. I will give that one you mentioned a google now. I don’t want to get something that will not over kill when I want overkill. Hot day, might need the extra. The ml/rating is decent compared to a lot at that price point, options.

Ok well that’s a $500cad humidifier at cheapest, 75 pints though. By the specs up there that one does like 25. I’m trying to fine tune, not get busted by the old lady haha. I’m putting it on my “someday” list anyways..

Might add, the room is venting into the 600sqft, my best bet is to control that room more so then the smaller grow room. I can put the humidifier into the grow room as well and turn down my exhaust. I need like 10-20 more RH. It’s not for a 600sq ft grow room, I can hold some RH separate from the 600.

Reading more I’m prob better off with a fan style wick like a large Honeywell made for a house without breaking the bank.

My 5disc. RO water.

Now we are talking! How do these handle exhaust and intake fans? I saw cheap versions of these but snubbed them off. Didn’t think to check out hydro shops.

Have to add, it’s late, just smoked, really starting to overthink haha. Fans won’t matter, I just need h2o airborn. Going to look at some kinda controllers for something like this. Just toss the pail in the room with a sensor. 6 head on eBay, does over 2L a hour from them.

Reporting back, six disk does a 10x10 room with high cfm exchange without running a hot bath. Any other info I need to know? Just toss it on a inkbird controller?

Inkbirds work great.
I built this pipe organ style a couple years ago. Mister and pc fan connected to inkbird.

You want nice even dispersal.
Gobs of fog slapping humidity and temp up and down may kickstart chit like PM.

Looks great, thanks for the link and info, much appreciated, I think I will grab the new style (straight) one from them, comes with 6 spare disks. Would this work from a res and plumbed in with like 1/2” pvc to multiple spots in the grow room, or is it limited how far the fog can go before it condenses back into water? If it would work, I can make like 6 or 8 spots that will let if come in everywhere via pipe.. are you using a cpu psu for that pushing fan or the disks transformer (think I saw something 24v)

Never used long runs of tube.
As long as nothing funky grows in them. I use a lil H202 in the mister RO resevoir to keep it rot free.

I’ve been rocking this for the past while and love it. Granted the room it conditions is not 600sq. The lung room for my tent is about 300sq, I usually fill the humidifier every 3-4 days. Keeps my flower tent at 50 Rh no problem with my tents exhaust fan running 24/7

Nice, I was looking at that one as well. As far as fan and wick ones go that seems to be the beast, the most output for that type and price for sure. Filters concern me as I have had smaller ones this style in the past.

Have you had any issues in the past with bacteria? Just wondering the upkeep, obviously RO waters a must. Any issues with disks or the transformer? This is what I was looking at, site says 10x10 with high air exchange.

Yes. Both can fail. Disc unit or power supply.

After 2 yrs I had to replace my 5disc. Cost of growing. Ugh.

No bacteria problems.....but I keep things freshened up.

Ah, to be expected. Ok, thanks a lot for the replies. I’m thinking just a remote res with a 1” pipe from the lung room, use a fan like you are to push it into my grow room which will be quickly beat up by air to keep things safe. 6 disk should humidify my 600sq ft so I should have good control with sensors/controller and direct plumbing just to the grow room.

Sounds good.

Also when mister ON. You can/should fiddle with higher/lower PC fan speeds. To regulate the mist output.
The fog unit gets warm....it will heat up the water accordingly. No biggie.

I also ran my pc fan 24/7...when mister off. Tjat way no stagnant air in box/tubes.

I'm high. bongsmilie :dunce:

Awesome, good plan, what did you drive the fan with? I have a bunch of old 12v power supplies that would prob do the trick.

Evaporative cooler.
Any input on brands or diy that are hobby level? I like the remote feature possibility with mist, keeping equip in the lung room. I’m all for doing the 600sq feet but it will be harder to control and cost more possibly is all. That 9 gallon evap one up there is prob the best output for the $. After that we are getting beyond the misters cost. I’m just not sure what to expect trying in a force air vented room compared to my previous setups. Will be adding my controllers to the fans, haven’t gotten around to it. I also have a smaller version of that 9 gallon up there bigmikey mentioned. I didn’t bother trying it but might throw it right into the room if the wick isn’t shot for now.
