SOLO CUP CHALLENGE

i should clarify this was a clone i droped in my suculant container when i transplanted her and she managed to root, now they are having a baby. idk man its weird LOL
LOL I like the mutant plant. It gets creativity points for sure.

This time around it is literally just for fun. BUT who is to say it won't be an actual competition next time. None of us really have a firm grasp on what a fair set of rules would even be yet so for now bragging rights is the only thing on the line.

I like to think of this as a fun experiment to possibly create something more concrete. This round is more like an art show than a competition and the people will vote on the ones they like and why they like them. Maybe we want more categories? Awesome! Let's talk about this.

I think using this as an annual thing would benefit both indoors and outdoors rather than constant back back to back competitions. I also think it is important to make sure the rules give everyone a good chance at every skill level. On the voting page I plan on letting people know that they should take into account the difficulty of the grow compared to the result. Some styles require a ton of attention and some require less.

I love all the entries so far. Mine are going to just flow into my grow tent cycle I popped them a couple days ago and the will have the next two weeks as veg and be flipped to flower with the rest of the tent. This is just what is the best way for me. If you want to set up something for this and this alone go right ahead! if it is going to put you outside the bounds of what safe for you legally then maybe don't.

We're venturing into new territory here all input is welcome

My take on a fair set of rules is pretty simple:
1. no dicks allowed
2. ANY container with a max size of 16oz
3. Roots must stay inside the container
4. Seedling start date would be earlier then clone start date.
5. Post as many pics as you can (not strict) and no lying.

Thats it.... that seems as faie as it gets ?

i dont think that would be fair on the fully organic guys. im not even sure it would be possible to go full organic in a solo. So if I were voting i would factor in organics differently. (2 plants , same size ish, same density ish, i would give the organic guy more "credit")

as far as finishing.... yea , a lot of folks might not make it to the end so that cant really be a "rule" but obviously it would rule them out of winning.

I think of it more as a art show also. I am inclined to not throw up categories but rather people comment on a person's grow and if a label sticks to the grow then they may in fact win the Donkey Balls category. In that way everyone may be able to win. Well at least a few.

I would bury A 16 oz cloth pot in the garden. Full organic and Still limited pot size with full bio exchange of organics. Allows for A possible unfair advantage though. So much for simple.LOL.

I think that should be allowed as long as the roots do not come out of the cloth. Yes , it may be an advantage but i dont "think" it would be much of one. The hard thing would be proving its not "growing in the ground" without destroying the soil food web surrounding the cloth pot? interesting though.
My theory on that is that myco would somehow build the roots up on the outside of the pot.

I don't know about a sock in the ground. Maybe if you pull it out for the weekly photo.
I'd run a cup. But I have buried 6gal pots with no root leakage. I only grew one plant at A time. And would bring them in If It got too cold. No room for A bush in thd house anymore.
