So far my house Of hydro misters have been used as a diy humidifier for months no issues. Baring in mind clones don’t use nutes so the corrosion of low ppm tap water is very low. Also house of hydro ain’t no cheap Chinese crap. They have anti corrosion plating
OneHit has a spinning disc type mister out of some model of humidifier. Have been looking for a cheap source for years. Remember seeing , first hand, some on handheld booms used with backpacks for application of something on tobacco crops back in 80's. Very fine micronised mist. Dewey misters seem like a nice simple option.

I plan to have 3 tables 14 x 4 ft and res will be 750l.

I’m setting up 3 2 inch solenoid valve that switches Between the tables using an arduino
Have you looked at mapito or Fytocell type media (aminoplast). Think commercial players go few cycles before discarding in big f/d setups.

Havnt got to that part of my build yet. Could learn from your mistake. Which relays do you recommend? I was gonna use an ardunio one on amazon...
Go for single channel relays and good brands. That way if you do have a failure it is easy to swap one out.

Avoid this kind -

I think house of hydro are reasonably priced for what you get.

The reason I’m not building my room yet is because I want to get everything perfect.

speaking of misters that’s something else I’m looking into. Automatic foliar

you know those misters you get in hot countries and they spray you with a fine mist tocool
You down? Im
Thinking of putting a hose line across my canopy basically between my leds shooting downwards to the canopy and having an automated pump in a foliar feed bucket

not sure if I want to foliar feed for sure yet so I’m working on this

Don’t want to have to deal with disposing of anything. It’s a bloody nightmare disposing of the stems as it is.

im building a large electric foundry as we speak to deal with this. Burning bins give off too much smell so I’ve designed a foundry that gets to 1000c and has a sealed lid so no smoke or smell escapes whilst it’s obliterated

Can get rid of bodies too. Remind me not to cross you. Have you looked at using a spreader mat for the roots instead of hydroton?

You talking about using one for your lights so high wattage?
Maybe not a large factor for 150w water pumps

I may build an ardunio controller just for my lights though. Probably more reliable than my timers I have atm

My attraction for the spinning disc atomiser was the durability and simplicity. No need for pumps of nozzles. Unclogging etc. Again, for cloning, dewey misters seem like a reliable option with minimal moving parts.

I have everything running through relays, lights, pumps, fans etc. Raspberry pi as the controller. Mycodo as the software. Might use home assistant next time as it seems to habe a big user base and wont disappear one day

Just searched those misters up. Hadn’t heard of them. I don’t really like the idea of multiple air line hoses all over the place.

I like the idea of having a large barrel filled with water and a mister in that. Sealed lid. A fan on a timer that blows the mist into the cloner. You could have one two inch pipe per 200 clones

Does a single raspberry pi run absolutely everything?

Havnt looked into raspberry pi yet only arduino. Wonder if it’s better. I know when I was looking into ardunio an issue I was constantly running into is not enough output ports and needing to use extenders

Really envious of anyone implementing microcontrollers. My experience is limited to basic arduino timers coupled to those single songli relays similar to what you posted above. The thought of recording environmental stats is appealing.

I wasn’t sure it was possible to find co2 sensors etc for ardunios/ raspberry pie. But if you can it’s definitely something I’ll be doing

Edit just had a quick google looks like the senseair s8 is decent? Co2 sensor I may start messing about with this soon

Seen a few with affordable variants around. MH-Z xx something. Best to check library availabilty and connectivity (uart/spi/i2c) depending on how you want to run them (arduino or other).

Xlx does raspberry pi allow concurrent programming? So if I wanted the controller to monitor and log measurements and at the same time run a loop for flooding and draining at the same time and also monitoring co2 and turning the co2 Burner off and on all concurrently ?
