Feeding day.
Gave them 3 liters each of the same batch I used 3 days ago. Had to adjust pH down a bit. Had like 2 liters Runoff though, guess I should feed less?

Also gave them a tablespoon each of mycorrhizae mix for soil. Fingers crossed it will do them good!

They do indeed look better! And man for me as it went for u, it got really enjoyable again. Were lst'ing them last night for half hour with a grin on my face :D

I noticed in daylight when moving them there were some dark green growth with a little big bluish/metallic tones. Is this copper def or calmag excess? I've been up above 6 pH for probably 1.5 weeks when measuring Runoff so makes sense if it's copper def.
Also makes sense if this is sign of cal/mag excess cause I've been using alot.

Checked on them just now, to see that they don't get burned by the new lights. Looks fine! But in the bright white light I noticed some very red/purple stems, and some brightened tips with some small brown spots on them.

Any ideas on what is causing red stems?

Bright tips where some have brown spots is either lighburn or nuteburn, right?

didnt mean to send that you yet. I was checking out your Nutrient line. Although your using coco you shouldnt have to add extra cal mg. So next watering after the pot dries, Ill water with example for 3 gal watering:
5 mil a gal Cal mg= 15 mil
1/4 just base nutes = equal parts of NPK would be great
2 mil a gal hydrogaurd = 6 mil
Ph to 5.8 Target Ppm 350 ~450. Just incase its a build or excess issue. Are you using the whole nute line every feeding?

Ur saying I don't need to add calmag, but advising to use more calmag than I use atm?

All I'm using right now is 1/4 strength base(a+b veg) and 1/2 strength(2ml per gal) calmag. Ph'ed down to 5.5(cause the runoff was at 6.2 I thought I should go as low as I can within the range)and double dose hydroguard(4ml per g) put in.

On a side note, my Runoff is also slightly weaker than what I put in. Last time i put in 0.85 and got 0.65 out as runoff.

I was actually thinking about using less calmag and up the base a bit, but open to follow ur suggestions. How much Runoff? Should I just pour alot of it to be sure that I flush out the nutrients with the wrong ratio?
Is it okay to feed 3 days apart, as long as coco doesn't get a completely dry top layer?

No You should always you cal mg. I meant you shouldnt have to add so much extra.

This is how I do it in this order for 3 gal veg:
1. exactly 3 gal
2. 1/8 Tsp Silica a gal
3. 1/4 Tsp cal mg a gal
4. 1/4 Nitrogen a gal
5. 1/8 phos a gal
6. 1/8 potash a gal
7. 1/8 kelp a gal
8. 1/4 amino acid a gal *this helps the uptake of calcium*
9. 6 mil of hydrogaurd (Good bacteria)
10. 2.5 mil Great white orca (Good bacteria)
11. Check my ppms to see if im at my target 450-550 ppm.
12. PH balance to 5.8

I will feed the until I reach my target ppm run off! If that take 1 gal good. Sometimes it takes 2 gal. I just make sure I get my target you dig.

Now yes that is a lot of nutrients drain to waste, But since ive adopted this feed/flush method I havent had those plant issues anymore.


Now I feed every feeding. Seedlings and Youngins 3or 4 days. Its every 2 days with my mature veg and flower plants. I also have air holes cut in all my buckets in veg/flower.

If DWC hydro works best for you, keep at it, but I've had several people tell me growing in hydro has a higher learning curve and can require more work ((not to mention, money)) that needs put in; and to start with something simple like coco coir or perlite, and work your way into the more complex growing methods like aero and hydro. Just a tip, but it could help to deal with less complexity at first.

New myself to cannabis grows, but have been growing vegetables in every hydroponic method known for years. DWC has always been the toughest for me to avoid problems. I even had better luck with aquaponics... So I personally wouldn’t do a cannabis grow especially for my first grow in DWC. It to me is the least forgiving method until you are REALLY versed in it. Again just my thought and good luck, I think you could easily switch that to a medium mentioned by Citrus and run a drip system or something similar and avoid a lot of hard lessons :).

I did change from Dwc to growing in coco/perlite :) it is indeed easier and Dwc really had me struggling with plant problems and all the maintenance.

I assume u didn't know the recommended strength when suggesting 5ml per gallon, as the recommended dose is 0.4-4.0ml per gal.

I was following the bottle instructions. Its 5 mil to a gal
