What to do with these crispy fan leaves at harvest?

So, according to the grower schedule (I know...) I have about 1 week left before chop. I'll be going by trichome color, but to be honest this is an 85% sativa and I'm looking for a headier high, so I may stick with one week even if I don't see a lot more amber.

With all that out of the way, here is my situation: Two plants from seed, same genetics, very different structures (short and squat vs tall lanky girl). Same feeding schedule, waited until soil was dry, watered to runoff, etc.. Short and squat is finishing up beautifully, but the tall one has been having her leaves become brown and crispy. I'll be honest, I haven't worried too much about it up until now since the buds seemed to be developing at relatively the same pace as her sister.

But now my concern is this: I don't want any of these crispy brown leaves ending up in the finished product, and my concern is that during the drying period, as the plant becomes more compact, I don't want any of these fan leaves shrinking in beyond where I can trim them. Now, this is my first grow, so I have no idea if any of these concerns are even valid, but my plan is to go ahead and trim all the dead area off before hanging them to dry, while leaving as much of the fan leaf on there to keep the dry time as slow as possible.

Am I overthinking this? Does my plan seem reasonable?

I've included both plants for comparison.

Also you should know harvesting before peak maturity will cause a lighter high due to low thc% strain(sativa/indica) is the real deciding factor on how it feels.

Not once did I ask why the leaves were turning, or if these plants are 100% ready.

No matter what we say you’re cutting it down in a week so what’s the real question? Does anyone agree it will be fine in a week?

When did I say I was for sure. I said I was gonna go by the trichs, and if there wasn't as much amber as recommended, I may still cut because I'm not worried about getting too much amber. Never said next week was set in stone.

But don't mind me, I just wrote the fucking post and you didn't even read it, or failed at comprehending it.

It's like some dude bringing a Chevy into a shop to ask some advice, and everyone saying "hurr Durr get a Ford!" Not exactly helpful or serving any purpose

The fuck he did. I asked specifically if I should cut the dead parts off before hanging them to dry, in a week, or in a month.

He posted a "how 2 tell if trichomes have changed color" image. But yeah, exactly what I was asking about.

Why the fuck would you have to ask that. Dead leaves = mold. Search a little Jesus

Dummy listen
Here’s what @BobThe420Builder was saying but you missed it

You have more than one week to go I'd say

Then he was showing you how to tell you had more then one week. And also how to tell when you’re ready. But since you didn’t get an answer that agrees with you, you’re shitting on everyone telling you something that you really don’t want to hear.

Most of the leaves browning are fan leaves and you'll be able to get those off easy enough. The finer or sugar leaves are more of a pita if they are browning into the bud. Usually if that is happening I figure the plant is close enough and take it or decide it's hash material and let it ride.

Taking a plant early does not make it lean to sativa, it just makes it immature.

As for trimming, trim all the leaves off. It's called a wet trim and that's all I ever do.

And, the plants look (from here) like they will be fine to take next week. They also look good. Sometimes amber never shows up.

Try and relax a bit, nobody was trying to hurt you by giving advice.

I appreciate the reply, and that's exactly the info I was looking for. I just get upset when I came in to ask a specific question, and I get a bunch of dudes acting as if I said something I didn't.

@potam, there are a lot of new growers asking questions that get answered by growers with little or less grow experience than the guy asking the questions.
keep digging & researching, & don't sweat the A-holes
Your plants, although somewhat fried , looks like you did a good job.
Kinda hard to tell from the pix, but they do look close.
I am not a fan of wet trimming, but in this case it's probably the best thing to do.

good luck.
