use of kelp powder?

I think his point was that the things that are readily available straight away to plants are the vitamins etc that are not fertilisers, but additives technically. And that the fertiliser parts of kelp release slowly when enzymes break them down. And that because nutrients would need to be broken down by microbes first, its not that the nutrients are in the kelp itself, the nutrients are the things that have been broken from kelp by bacteria through biochemical reactions over time.

Correct me if im wrong

Like is a whole fish head an nutrient? Not really, but when it gets composted by bacteria, there is nutrients coming out as a result. But could we say that fish meal is a slow release fertiliser? Well sure i think we could say that, but its a silly thing to argue about imo if we all know what it does and how it does it

*slaps his plant with kelp*

Why isn't dis werkin?

That's right, shit is locked in until it is broken down and turned into useful stuff your plant can uptake.

Is your kelp powder enzymatically digested or broken down chemically? Then the process to make the nutrients available has already been done for you.

Also, the only thing sterile about you is your thought process. You could benefit from reading a book now and then.

Sidenote: today is a great day to fight over anything. Dad died three years ago today and I'd be happy to argue over the colour pink and somehow turn it into racist slurs.

Fucking pink skins. Why don't they go get a fucking job.

You wouldn't know fertilizer if a chemical company dumped N,P,K packs on your front porch with labels.

Kelp is an additive.

No Problem! I'll make a double batch next time.

It's not safe to consume oysters or clams in any month that does not have a "R" in it's name.:)

I'll pass on your kind offer though. I don't have any room in my pandemic freezers for any more food.

Sure is good looking seaweed, what flavor?
I get 60lb bags dried of A. nodosum for $45, plus all the crustaceans that didn't escape the parking lot.

I get the kind used to make dashi
Unfortunately, I can't read what variety that is.
Not all seaweed will give you benefits you expect, comfrey or yarrow does better that most seaweeds.
The stuff you buy at farm supply stores is usually sugar kelp, which isn't bad but lacks ingredients that A.nodosum has.
You just need lots more of it for the same job.
Nori is unusually good tasting red seaweed, not the best for gardens.

For example, Chondrus crispus seaweed is called Irish moss or carrageen moss . The main constituent of Irish moss is a polysaccharide carrageenan which has no nutritional value, but is a powerful plant growth regulator.
They recently developed foliar spraying of young rice beds with it with spectacular results due to its anti bacterial and plant growth properties.
