The Divided States of America

Interesting how people cope in different ways. Last night, when early returns came in and Trump seemed to be winning, I had zero interest in getting high or even a beer. I do not find that cannabis does much for my anxiety, reading does. If Trump had won last night, I would have needed time to get over the worst of my feelings before I could even crack open a beer. That's what happened in 2016.

Edibles fuck up my sleep. I like the high but I don't get good REM sleep when I take it in the evening. It took me a while to understand that my response isn't the same that others describe.
Bought a bottle of wine for election night and had a glass, I hope to have another one tonight, a drink to JRB's health and good fortune. One for Uncle Sam too, I like the guy and will be glad to see him get his health back after a good shit.

My son asked me if I would cook a celebratory dinner (I like too cook) & "pop a cork" as the saying goes when Trump loses/Biden wins.
I said yes at that moment, Tuesday evening.
Now, sitting here Thursday evening still waiting for the final results, I don't think I will.
I can't see/feel anything to celebrate about with this election.
As a Nation, we all fucking lost it seems
Too much division at the worst possible fucking time in our History.
Oh well, it is what the fuck it is, right?
Stay safe/wear a mask & Peace out :)

Dance while the sun shines James and drink a toast with your son to Joe and Uncle Sam.

Once there was a farmer whose only horse ran away, his neighbors lamented his fate, but he was equanimous about it. The next day the horse returned with another wild horse and now he had two, his neighbors praised his good fortune, he said we'll see.
Then his son fell from the wild horse breaking his leg while trying to tame it and his neighbors said he had bad luck, he said we will see.
The next week the local warlord conscripted all of the young men of the village, except his son who had a broken leg. All the young men in the village were killed, except for his son, we'll see.

New Jersey, Montana, Arizona, South Dakota, all legalized recreational and Mississippi legalized medical! Great year for the herb!! Montana may have voted for Trump, a Republican Senator and Governor, but at least 56% of the people voted for recreational cannabis, so I haven't lost all hope in the state.
Holy shit. I can't believe SD legalized it. That's amazing. I lived there for awhile and they weren't cool with weed at all. I started drinking more there since weed was hard to get a lot of the time. I watched my neighbor get arrested there for selling weed. He was getting pounds in CO and bringing back and selling it there. I'm not surprised about AZ though. I knew AZ was coming on board.

When GA, TN, AL, LA, SC decriminalize, we’ll be getting somewhere...

I don't still live there. I couldn't stand that place, lol. I've been in CO for over 10 years now. Everything's better here, except the fishing and hunting.
lol I reread it and realized so had to change it to SD, I started out with the 'love' but then read the part about your buddy and had to pull back to a like.

Nice, I hear great things about CO, but I am a wuss when it comes to driving in the mountains and over big bridges.

Hahaha. Well good news, he wasn't a buddy. Just a good neighbor to have, lol. I was sure sad to see him go. I just had to walk a few feet for weed.

Democracy today in the USA under Trump
Fucking frighting, right?

I'm less frightened today than I was on Monday.

We are going to muddle through this. With Biden as Prez. Also, Trump's stormtroopers will have to consider what happens in a few months when the orange man is no longer covering for them. The whole situation becomes less fraught knowing that a different leader will be in charge in three months.

He doesn't drink or smoke ( I scared him away from them :) )
But, when Biden is finally declared the winner I think a nice rack of lamb with some Autumn squash/fingerling potatoes/asparagus with a butter sauce & for myself a nice Cabernet
That would be fine :)
If you can't be an example to follow, at least you can be a horrible warning!
Sounds like a sensible lad, must take after his mom!
The Russians say a man spends the last half of his life dealing with the bad habits he formed in the first half!

Celebrate James you have cause and less reason to throw shit at the TV in the future.

Donald is going down in flames before your eyes right now, savor the schadenfreude...
Time for some wine soon I would think, tonight is election night.
