the burners are brass, they wouldnt use copper.

I think propane burns cleaner than natural gas

do you use propane or natural gas? Do you just clean the outside of the burner or do you actually take it apart?

When running a gas line i like to put a drip leg before the shutoff and regulator. The drip leg will catch impurities that could clog the regulator.

The natural gas or propane will burn clean provided the air to fuel ratio is correct, this is managed by burner orifice size and the regulator preasure.

The guy who I spoke with from customer service told me to take it apart to clean inside of the hole of the burner

If anything got in there, it made it past the regulator and that is highly unlikely. but it can't hurt. Not something I have ever done. My Sentinel CO2 generator has been in use for a good 7 years with me and I picked it up used off craigslist and it was obviously well used when I got it.

If your flame is burning correctly then there is no issue. Do you have a pic of the burners lit so we can see the flame color?

Copper corrodes, it's a green oxide. Thing is though, they don't use copper burners, they are brass.

NG is way cleaner than LP, Even more so if buying small prefilled tanks.

Yes need drip leg to be legal here.

You look perfectly good to go IMO. The burner slots don't appear to be at all affected and the flame color looks great.

Then why is carbon appearing at the top of the unit? Does yours ever get like that? It’s concerning to me like something is wrong
