Wondering what y’all’s opinion is on lighting for this small of an area? Only looking to have 3 maybe 4 plants. Any suggestions are appreciated!
Id do 400w actual draw cob led light bro. get a decent passive intake/outtake fan system and some panda film for walls and ya should be good . Got a feed routine ready?Wondering what y’all’s opinion is on lighting for this small of an area? Only looking to have 3 maybe 4 plants. Any suggestions are appreciated!
Seems like I’m on the right track, same exact thought I had. Thinking the Spiderfarm 1000w would be plenty.3ft x 3ft? I have just switched to LEDs and they seem awesome so far. A good quality 150w to 250w full spectrum would be perfect. Same sort of lumen power as a 250 to 400w hps. As they are leds, heat wouldn't be an issue either. Keeps the costs down too! Love to see the setup when ready too!
1000w for a closet grow is overkill imoSeems like I’m on the right track, same exact thought I had. Thinking the Spiderfarm 1000w would be plenty.
With autos less is always more as you dont really have time to fuck upI’ve been looking at the Spiderfarm SF-1000 and MARS Hydro TS-1000. Should be more than enough you think? Haha
Still doing research on feed routines atm since it will be my first time growing autos.
What LEDs are you running atm?1000w for a closet grow is overkill imo
Running a 250w on my 1.2m tent and a 400w on a 1.5m tent. Am upgrading to a 400w and 600w lumatek next cycle when got some more spending moneyWhat LEDs are you running atm?
Was running a 600w hps in each before I switched to the ledsWhat LEDs are you running atm?
I was actually looking at those Mars 1000...interesting about the warranty. Any experience with lumateks or gavitas?Yeah I'd go with QB's for that space, would work perfectly!
If you do decide to go with a prefab light, definitely go the spiderfarmer over the Mars, myself and a few others have had electrical issues with Mars and my friend got electrocuted from his. Mars won't honour warranty for us either!
What QBs would you recommend?Yeah I'd go with QB's for that space, would work perfectly!

Kingbrite 240W QBWhat QBs would you recommend?
Thanks for all the info, really helped. Looking like I’m gonna be going for the Kingbrite 240w QBFor practical maximum intensities (practical maximum intensity = about 80% of the absolute maximum intensity which results when CO2 is needed, and frying plants becomes a fairly high probability; I'm signifying absolute max to be 12hrs of 1000PPFD; 43.2DLI), you want ~30W/ft2 of white LED, or ~45W/ft2 of HID. At these irradiances, the plants will get ~725 - 850 PPFD on the average for each type of lighting.
In other words, 30W/ft2 of LED = ~785PPFD = ~45W/ft2 of HID.
Any more than these figures and you're likely to burn up your plants, especially in a small closet.
μmol/J figures used for the 785 PPFD comparison:
White LED = 2.43μmol/J
HID = 1.62μmol/J

Edit
True wall watts, not talking equivalent watts. If your LED light consumes 240W and you throw it in 9ft2 area, then that = 26.66W/ft2 (240 ÷ 9 = 26.67). This would be a good choice because it's close to the 30W/ft2 figure and under the absolute max (30w/ft2 ÷ 80% = 37.5W/m2) figure. If you buy a 400W HID and throw it in a 9ft2 area, that = 44.4W/ft2, and a good HID selection considering the guideline.
Dont go off of equivalent wattage, lots of LED manufacturers claim "equivalent to a ____W light," that's garbage. Whatever the equivalent wattage is, is garbage. Disregard it and look for the actual power consumption, or the actual power input, NOT the equivalent wattage. When calculating W/ft2 or W/m2, you need the real watts, not "equivalent" wattage.
Gonna have to take a look into thoseIf you have good ventilation available I'd hang a 315 CMH in that space. Quality light and watts for a space that size.
