I know people that mix Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Happy Frog 50/50 with great results. I don't know why you would want to cut Happy Frog with coco.

Hey bud, thanks for the kind words. This is why I asked the OP what he was trying to accomplish. It's cool if you don't have the same opinion, would not be much of a place to learn if everyone had the same ideas. I would still stick by my words though. Soil is soil and coco is a soilless medium. If growing with either they are totally different. You feed them different, you use a different PH etc. They are defiantly treated different and have different needs. I realize many use coco as an amendment but I would not suggest a 50/50 mix, that's not an amendment but rather half your medium. If it's just extra O2 I would suggest perlite but as I say, I know some do add coco. I put my old coco out in my garden when I am done with it so I am not against adding some but I would say more like 10 or 20 %.
50/50 is fine. The base of most soils is peat anyways , so why not use coco instead of peat ? 1/3 coco , 1/3 perlite and 1/3 ewc or compost , you cant go wrong. You can treat coco anyway you want it and get great results.

I dont feel comfortable yet building my own soil. That takes alot of knowledge in my opinion. Probably easy to really fuck things up if you dont know what your doing.
there are a few tutorials in the organic section i think? follow their advice and ingredients.

So you figure 1/3 soil and the rest something else? I guess I just don't see the point. Adding some extra O2 to the root zone is easily accomplished without filling the pots with 2/3 of something else. The fact is that I am not a soil grower and won't tell soil growers how to do it, it's not my wheelhouse. Just because it doesn't make sense to me does not mean it won't work or is not good, just does not seem logical to me. That could just be a lack of knowledge about using soil as a medium and if that's the case I am happy to learn. This is why I didn't take a hard stance on this, I try to be open minded.
