Needing a good AC unit preferably portable?

Winter and an open window lol I too would like a good recommendation as spring is coming my temps are going up a little bit

Im also looking for an ac unit hopefully someone has some recommendations...i wanted portable as well but it seems that you can get more btu per $ with window units... i was looking at keystone portable 12,000 btu from home depot

You don’t really have a lot of options. Especially if you live in an area with cold weather. A split unit would be preferred, but this is what I use.
Why? I dont understand what summer heat has to do with limited options because of cold weather? My home dosen't have central cooling...only heat . We used window units...i take mine out in the winter but i see some houses just place some foam insulation and tarp over them until summer time

If you need to use AC in the winter, which most of us do, the window kind will freeze up on you.

If you can make a window unit work I'd use that. Portable ACs are absolute nightmares. They are incredibly electrically inefficient. Unrealizable at best. At least all 2 I tried before giving that shit up. Lol

You guys have convinced me. I would rather run 2 window units anyways. Then I dont have to deal with the exhaust or the runoff.

Thank you. I went through SO MANY port ACs and NONE seemed worth it unless they were $800 even at 400 they didn't seem right.

For 300 I can purchase 2 window units.

For 300 I can purchase 2 window units. Keep my rooms cold with one. And run the other to my tent. Then the temps should maintain pretty well this spring/summer.
