I think they make blurple lights too but 3500k full spec was all I saw. They get pretty hot, I've never let my tent get past 82°F so I'm not sure how bad they get without air circulating. I really wanted them because of the cooling fans too, personally I don't think I'll ever buy lights that don't have them. Seems kinda sketchy without fans imo. The light itself is enough to keep my plants at temp without having a heater in the tent (the house is at 70°F).
Yeah, as long as the ambient temps in the room the tent is in stay around 70-75 my 2x2 doesn't get past 83 degrees using just the passive exhausting for airflow. I'm currently vegging some seedlings under a little 250 watt metal halide system along with four 40 watt supplemental cfls making the total light in there around 410 actual watts, not so bad, at least for now. I am going to be switching the bulb over soon to the HPS and it will probably get warmer in there. Thanks again, I am going to look into those LED's

lol just your common box fan. i figured why use a bunch of little ones? one good size fan does the trick and keeps my led boards a lil cooler. tent holds about 80 degrees consistantly and around 55 to 60 percent humidity.
I'm with you there, I try to get all metal fans in larger formats now. The little ones are completely chinese-ey and more often than they're worth.
True. Theres a cheap brand I've been using. For Living. They make a nice 8" metal oscellating table fan. I used one for about 2 months hung upside down last year with no problems. I bought it to replace a more expensive wall fan that the plastic oscellating arm literally snapped in half on. I think any metal fan is a safer bet than a plastic one.
