I need help, I'm debating if I wanna quit growing, I keep getting hermi issues

Same here! I only get fems because i dont have the grow room to weed out all the males. I get cuttings from a buddy here and there but its a hassle (rather wait a month to get gens from the attitude) i make temporary mothers and try to keep the stable ones going
So it’s possible you got a bad strain from a buddy if there’s no other explanation then that would be my guess

Did the plants look healthy otherwise? Definitely don't give up. Good luck. :peace:
oh yeah on a side note I didn't see claw leaves, no darker green leaves from excessive nitrogen, no YMCA pose (excessive pk), no wilting, no over watering or underwatering. hmmm hearing all this in my my head got me thinking its just some shit genetics here and there i guess

My understanding of hermaphroditism is that it is a genetic predisposition, in times of stress as a way to make sure it can produce offspring for the next generation. Its purely a survival technique that the plant as adopted.
Hes mentioned a bunch of vegetables and other plants, ethylene can possibly trigger them to hermie, by signaling the plant it's running out of time and to produce offspring it hermies.just a working theory but the chances of all those seeds having the hermie gene passed on by those decent breeders is low.

yeah and that asshole is sitting there angry at me saying its all my fault and his buddy grew the same thing with out hermi issues acting as though all clones from the same mother are gonna act the same. nah some hermied off the same mother and some didnt. so like its gotta be a combination of some shit, genetic and stress colliding at a weird point in the plants life to where that happenes

That right there tells me it's you. Probably the environment. I'd check to make sure it's totally dark during the dark cycle.

Clones are all genetically identical.

That is exactly what animal Mintz did to me I mean it was fucking beautiful 5 feet almost 6 feet tall no light leaves no yellow leaves no nothing man second week in the flowering change on me

dude.. i know what a nanner looks like, this isnt the first time ive seen them they were not white, they were green and yellow stiicking out of a nug and caused a white hair below it to turn slightly orange due to what i assume is pollen falling on the nug below
Maybe it's mutant pollen from your other tent...

I don’t think anybody’s angry at you man I think they’re just angry at what happened oh I know I was angry as fuck when it happened to me I called my family member and said hey man cut this motherfucker out of my tent please. It was beautiful the one on the right

Ethylene gas could be accelerating flowering, to the point it's a hormone overload and wham you got hermie...idk i would think it would take a pretty large consistent dose of that gas to do it though. Only you can see if there's too much ethylene sources nearby...you aint stopping ethylene gas unless you have some kind of ISO Class 8+ cleanroom.
Correct if you look through old posts on MNS Neville states he used ethylene to reverse males to female.

i thought so too but they are clones from him off his buddies mother plants, some must of been getting light leaks or fed wrong. idk but they all acted differently he had 2 versions of the same strain one grew more like purple punch one was more pine berry like in height. other genetics in the same room had 0 issues

Did anyone mention that herms produce only female seeds? The problem is that the females have a very high probability of being hermi.

At least that's what I was told. It sounds like not too good of seeds.

I heard the same and that i should be using reg seeds or clones (hard to get no dispensaries near me) but again i dont have room to weed em out or wait a month to find out. I wish i had a way of getting clones or bud for that matter

Grown around 20 plants outdoors, and a few indoors...never had Hermie issues, not once, and most was grown from bagseed...they say it's environmental, but all my plants have been grown in an average of 80% humidity, 35c temps, with plenty of light inconsistencies due to houses around, floodlights I'm my back yard, the moon....you name it. Terri me environments compared to most here.

It just seems to be pure irony that the people that get herms the most are people that spend way too much time controlling the environment and obsessing with stability...these herms seem to be growing out of spite somehow. I've had a housemate grow for years with no concern for light leaks in any way. Turns lights on whenever he wants, leaves vents opened during lights out in a lit room, never managed temps or humidity. Never a Herm over 30-40 plants.

It's strange that it keeps happening to people that go to lengths like sealing zippers, worrying about pinpricks and standby light and putting foil over their tents, meanwhile I throw mine in and out of sun, change the lighting every day, don't monitor anything and I've never had a single issue.

I swear nanners attack people that put in the most effort to control their environment. It is so not fair on these people.

I guess they like negeltic and the chaos of mother nature/humans. I treat em like one minute of darkness in flower during a light cycle could kill them and they act like there trynna reproduce when I don't even stress em in anyway beyond a lolipop, transplant and minor defoliation , hell i dont even lst or hst anymore. Im still so confused. my air exchange, temps, feed, amount of light, is all better than what it is outside and it still happens to me

Doesn't stop the yokels.
shit they takin over! they must be running DNA genetics because i just saw a post from 2019 of some one with the same strain have the same issue. I guess in certain circumstances its just not me doing anything wrong but still baffles me how a multi million dollar company like barneys farm can put out a strain like blue gelato and have it herm in a better environment than whats outside

My first hermi in all my years growing, plus my first tent grow So anything is possible

Have you tried ordering seeds in? I get mine from ILGM.COM. Their seeds are usually good. Last year I got 5 bad seeds out of 10. They made it more than right. This place is one of the best to get seeds.

Feminised seeds are hermaphrodite.
How else would you get a feminised seed.

The problem here is probably a mix of duff genetics and a couple of other things.
Ethylene can induce sexual traits in cannabis. But needs high PPM from what I remember.

I've read as many "hermy" problems from fem seeds as I have seen success.
The whole game is now rigged up to tell you to deal with it.

Just go to any of the Dutch fem companies and read the page regarding female seeds and hermaphrodite.

It's true cannabis will herm if left past its flowering time of if stressed as a self defense mechanism.
But it's not true we should accept it. Because it's lazy breeding.

Strains with any American clone only init also will herm like rabbits produce. GG4 for example.

Anyone claiming to have no herns from 20 years of fem growing probably missed them or harvested before they shot.

Yeah I get them from The Attitude because I have 0 places to get clones or seeds within 4 hours of me even bud, wax and edibles are hard for me to get here. i have to make all my own rosin and edibles
