Anyone tried there skunk 1 these days ? I know they get a bad rap for herms nowadays but idk anyone who did there skunk in a long time so im curious if its any good or just sweet n fruity now

I was wondering the same. I got blueberry from them right after that skunk in 2002 and that was elite shit. Tried their blueberry again in 2010 and was disappointed big time. All hermied and had weak terps at week 4 so I chopped them all down.
I literally just saw a story post about this on IG last night.
According to the guy who found GMO in his MI basement grow (@skunkmasterflex1 on IG aka Skunk House seeds), it's a pheno of Chem D x GSC from Mamiko, which was later released by them as Chem Cookies.
He gave it the name GMO because at the time the Girl Scouts of America were getting shit over having GMO ingredients in their cookies...and it grew like it was genetically modified. Has nothing to do with "garlic mushroom onion", though it was also called Garlic Cookies by a dispensary in Ann Arbor that had a problem with the name.
Supposedly an old 80’s RKS. Katsu says it has the terps and that they pass on to progeny.

meh plenty of people claim to have it or that they have a cut with the smell / terps but most people now a days don't even know wtf their talking about ! #1 they have never even smelled a skunk that's been run over and had it's spray sac pushed out its ass the hard way.
#2 They are not old enough to even know wtf they are talking about if you where not smoking weed from about 1988 to around 1998 was the last time i have seen what i know to be the real deal around. Although i'm pretty sure it was around before even that time frame
#2b And i don't care about the stories your older brother or uncle or even your daddy told you.
#3 I'm not claiming to know the exact genetic make up ( Sorry i'm not Matty ) or to know exactly where it came from originally nor do i care . I do know the people that i know that held the genetics were much older then me by about 35 to 40 years .

Small world in so many ways back in the mid 70’s I was a young teenager hanging out with my bestie. Who’s older brother Dave and a friend Joe was experimenting with plant genetics. They researched various strains for taste, aroma and yields in their garage. My buddy and I would just hang out smoke for free get a few bucks thrower our way for doing work around the shop. So this is how it actually happened they crossed Acapulco Gold/Afghan/Columbian and it was the stankiest shot you’ve ever smelt. You could smell it 2 blocks away if the wind was right. It wasn’t long until this strain became known across the entire US. That was the formation of Sacred Seed which was later raided by the feds I learned so much during the times I spent there it inspired me enough to get my degree later in life in plant science. I’ve got more to the history if anyone interested. I’m just carrying on. It’s one hell of a story oh by the way for those of you wondering yes I’m talking about Mendocino Joe and Sam the Skunkman. Joe’s brother was my best friend for 30 years God rest his soul.
I could be wrong, but his list says RKS and some other skunks among strains crossed to Hotcakes and Romulan.

Hi all, been hunting a true skunk for so long anyone found anything close to it? I'm not talking about the sweet one i want the foul stench skunk, so so hard to find have any of u come across this please comment, or is it best to just start back with the landrace Afghan?

fwiw GMO is a stinky strain but I get zero skunk smell from that. maybe there's a different pheno but I've tried it from many growers Inc a friend who has the original cut and I've never once heard it called a skunk smelling strain.
the closest modern strain I've personally found is Shoreline. Have some Shoreline x Guava Kush in veg now. Smoked the plants these seeds came from last summer and it was definitely smell a joint from a 1/4 mile away type weed. had to pop a bunch to find a nice female but hopefully it has the stank.

That stuff is the funk!
It is straight up offensive to the nostrils.
I do not recall skunk odors coming from it though.
High was very very disorienting and potent

If you grew up in the midwest US then pretty sure you know what a skunk smells like, lol. But the smell of a skunk freshly mowed over by a car roasting in the hot sun as you scrap that sad mofo off the road is a whole nother level.
I know the skunk #1 i grew in 2002 was not even close to rks but it was by far the skunkiest bud I've ever grown and I have no interest to ever grow it again, even with carbon filters. Just not pleasant smelling.

No, skunk has been discussed repeatedly (in the thread youre pointing out). Which is kind of proving my point that this thread is dope. I want to hear about other really loud stinky strains. Doesnt necessarily mean it has to all be skunk

all good.. thread title literally says "skunkiest roadkill smelling strain" so I thought you were looking for skunky roadkill terps. RKS aka Road Kill Skunk and the hunt for it is discussed in the other thread, including other strains that come close. there's tons of other loud and stank strains just the RKS is the one that fits the explanation of your original post.
if you are after loud diesel terps, long valley royal kush is inbred Sour D / Diesel / Kush across multiple generations. I have some in flower now, bumping a leaf smells like a gas can got knocked over. no clue on the smoke yet but it looks and smells nasty.
