Sprouting seeds

I got some auto white widow seeds from Crog King Seeds and followed their germination instructions, mostly to a T. I soaked 2 seeds in a glass of water for 12-14 hours, when I pressed on the seeds, they sank. I then took them and placed them in a wet paper towel, waited 24-30 hrs., and they had 1/4in lil baby roots. Then i put the seeds in their final container (I guess because they are auto's) - one 3gal, and one 5gal. I watered with 1 cup of bottled spring water, and another cup about 1.5 -2 days later. Then I thought maybe I am overwatering, so last night I just sprayed some water on the top of the soil. Temp is between 70-75, humidity 52-60. I planted them Saturday around 7pm, its Tuesday morning - am I being impatient? Since I have 0 experience, its been a challenge determining if I am 'doing it right.' I am also super impatient it seems, and it kills me not being able to SEE wtf is happening under the soil. Tell me if I am being ridiculous because my fingers are itching to dig around.

How deep in the soil did you plant them? If they were already showing a root, then they should be alive in there. If you dig your fingers around, you could mess up the fragile new growth. Don't drown them, the soil should be moist, but not constantly drenched.

One cup is WAY too much. Take your seed put it in soil mist surface once or twice a day. Thats it,skip the rest.

Thats deep but if its strong and the soil isnt to heavy it'll come up hopefully. Rule of thumb with any seed is twice the length of the seed is correct sow depth

Yeah so I deff planted too deep. Bummer. Well I will give it 2 more days then go mining for dead seeds. I already bought some Jiffy pellets if these dont work, I was going to try to use those instead - seemed easy to transplant, as long as I can cut away the outside mesh. I saw too many picks of root systems be restricted because the outside mesh didn't biodegrade. Or maybe I will just use the same soil and sow shallow - too many choices!

Put the seed in soil 1/4" and just mist the surface thats it skip the soak ,paper towels all that. MJ does not need to be pregerminated and imo just opens more opportunity to kill it
