When to start "male" plant used to pollinate others

Heyoo,

So I'm trying to make feminized seeds. I read somewhere that I should start the first plant that I will use to make feminized pollen before the other plants that will be kept phenotypically female. Anyone know how early I should start this plant? 2-3 weeks before the others?

I can't find where I read this now :wall:

If you flip the reversed female to 12/12 two to three weeks before you flip the females, then the reversed female will have male flowers opening and releasing pollen by the time the females start flowering. If you want fully seeded females, collect pollen from the reversed plant and continue to apply throughout the first 4 to 5 weeks of the females flowering.

If I only have one grow space, should I start the plant I intend to make pollen from about 2-3 weeks in advance then?

Do you mean root a clone, pollinate a seed, or start 12/12 light cycle 2-3 weeks in advance?

If you are reversing a female using a spray, separate from other plants when you spray.

If you have the space/equipmemt to do it, I would start the reversed plant on 12/12 earlier than the other plants, so when they start flowering the reversed female's male parts will already be releasing pollen. For the next 4 or 5 weeks keep dusting the females with pollen.

If you are starting from fem seeds, germinate at same time.

If you are starting from clones, root them at same time.

It would be fem seeds, one grow space, autos. So start at the same time?
