I got tired of just reading posts so I decided I’d give
Making my own soil a go. I’m on a budget so I didn’t go all out.
I bought: Coco coir, Earthworm Castings, Perlite and Chicken Shit.
I put : 8L Coco, 2L EWC, 3L Chicken Shit, and 25% Perlite

I guess my question is, “Is that enough or to much?”

kinda simple but I haven’t read anything about ewc and chicken shit, I’m concerned about the N levels

Coco works the best with dry salts, watered and fed daily. With amendments you will most likely end up with issues, since you do not have control over feeding. Its actually not soil but amended coco. Built your own “soil” is much more complicated than what you are trying here to do. You might be better off with just classic potting mix or much more research in organic section here on RIU. You can use those things in your soil that’s just not actual soil that’s just coco with some additives. gotta be more creative! You can build a soil on a budget using like a tomato tone 6 dollars. ewcs ( you already have ) dolomite lime 15 on Amazon and rock dust 18 dollars on Amazon using coco , soil, and perlite as your base use like 2 to 3 gallons each part for base and one cup each amendment except the rock dust use like four cups of it to create you microbiology that’ll make about 15 gallons of soil ( you would need to add more than the stated amount of amendments for that though ) the amendments will be left for top dressing after you make your soil. So with what you should have to spend like 40 bucks to get what you need to have a decent usable soil. You can also reuse this soil a few times as long as amended correctly. You can do something’s on a budget but lights and soil should always be done the best you can

By Chicken Shit do you mean the pellets/granules or just freshly rotted Chicken Manure?

I use the pellets in our vegetable garden and a 10L pot would need a hand full at most. My wife covered the surface of 3 gallon pot, with a Courgette plant in it, with them and needless to say they plant didn't last very long.

A Basic soil base would be:
1/3 EWC, 1/3 Compost, 1/3 Aeration elements ( Perlite, Pumice, Rice Hull). From there, you will need to add minerals. It can be 15% of your own dirty. Thats a very basic soil. Soils are only soils, if there is microbiology life in it. Microbes will do the heavy work. Check out Super Soils... Clakamas Coot, Subcool Recipe... Will give you a better idea where you are at.

No way man. Maybe you meant 1/3 peat, 1/3 compost, 1/3 aeration.

I use pumice, lava rock, and rice hulls for my aeration materials. But pumice alone is all you need.

And rice hulls break down fairly fast.

And this shit sounds like a math problem. How smart are stoners? If you loadies can't solve it I'll give you the answer.

If you put 8L Coco, 2L EWC, 3L Chicken Shit, and 25% Perlite. How much perlite did you add???

Since you bought the coco use it but rinse it well it can be loaded with salt, also charge it with calcium and magnesium (let it soak). Otherwise you’ll have cal/mag problems. I’ve cut soil with 40% coco, it grows well and the root system was really well developed. Chicken shit is hot stuff, use a cup per 28 litres.
