Why Not to Use Grow Address for Seed Order

I used to be super paranoid too and either use a PO Box for seeds deliveries or ship them to a non-growing friend’s address. I had magic mushroom spores shipped to fake name at my parents house once. Pre-digital camera, I’d drive far from my house to have film with grow pics developed under fake names, my favorite was Bert Erniesen. In hindsight, I doubt the teenager running the film development counter at Sav-on was interested in reporting my closet grow.
I’d only buy supplies in person with cash because I was afraid “the man” would somehow keep track of any mail order purchases from hydro suppliers. Just getting new 400w HPS bulbs was a huge ordeal.
Fast forward to med legal and I stopped worrying about all that. Have had multiple seed orders shipped to my house over the past decade plus without worry. If I weren’t in a legal state, I’d probably still do the PO Box thing for seeds today though.
Last time i checked one needed a picture ID to rent a PO box.

All the feds do if they find seeds coming through customs or the mail is maybe confiscate them and send you a notice of confiscation. If you're in a non-legal state it's still the feds that control the mail and they don't have the resources to bother with them. Now if you're getting pounds of drugs sent through the mail and they find them they will likely pursue things which could include involving local LE.

I remember going to the hydro store and scoping out the parking lot in case there were cops watching before going inside. We'd often park around the corner but looking back I don't see how that would have made any difference. I must have looked funny walking out and around the corner down the sidewalk with a 50L bag of hydroton. Chances are we were just being paranoid and the cops were down at the donut shop and didn't give a damn.
You didnt look funny we were all doing that i used to drive to MASS from maine to buy stuff didnt dare to use local hydro stores. early 90s i bet you remember opp green merchant worms way got busted big time an they turned over all the names they had.

That’s all bs, no one cares if you’re ordering seeds. Seeds are legal to have first of all, secondly the only entity that knows they’re seeds is the place that sent them. I’ve had seeds, clones, flower, distillate, carts, tractor trailers with grow supplies (trays, pallets of coco) all that shit at my house, no one cares.. you have constitutional rights that prevent anyone from knowing what’s in your mailbox.
Same with the electric bill. Never heard of anyone busted for a personal grow. Even running multiple lights and pumps and air handling equipment.

That was like blowing on your Nintendo cartridge if it didn't work the first time. No internet but how the hell did every kid know to do that, regardless if it worked or not?
My older brother, then my cousin taught him. Before that. I think kids still just played outside.

I’ve had two seed orders grabbed by customs. 1 last summer, I only knew customs got it because the tracking info never got past “received by customs”. The other time was 8 or 9 years ago, I got the actual “customs found something in your package, contact us if you want to claim it” letter. Nothing else happened both times.

I mailed a quarter pound from one Alaska address to another one. Tracking showed it made it to the local post office. Then nothing.

A week later got a letter from the criminal investigation unit in Chicago. They had something of mine and gave me the opportunity to try and get it back. Ignored it. That was 4 years ago so doubt they'd ever do anything.

I received a seed order once with a US customs notice in the opened package.....but the seeds were still there too! On the other hand I had a digital hid ballast that repeatedly fried the electric meter on my house. This eventually attracted the notice of the power company who showed up the day I was making dry ice hash. Awkward! I pretty much switched to LED lights from that day forward. In fact, I took a lengthy break from growing after that.

Listen … WE are not interested in your seed purchases . We are more interested in civil asset seizures like cash .

It buys our police toys and donuts .
Paranoia pays the bills.
Thanks for your support.

Gave up ordering seeds from outside the USA a long time ago. Before I did I had 3 orders hit O'Hare and then stop. After a few days I filed an online complaint with the USPS. All 3 times I got my seed order intact. They send you a survey later asking how they did. Sterling, boys. You did just fine.

Guys, if they didn't come after me for a quarter pound I seriously doubt they're coming after you for seeds.

Not sure why the drama about seed purchases ….. either you get them or you don’t.
‘Either ‘ seed bank ‘ was a scammer site or customs got you.

Ordered from TSSC ( back when they were the original site ) over in UK - literally ordered 14 times to west coast … never lost an order.
I tend to follow recommendations of other growers in seed bank choices. Some seed stock is trickling down to local dispensaries and are at least STILL in original breeder packs. That is another source for me. Hell , a dispensary down street sells clones and teens …So you don’t run the risk of questionable seed sources.

It’s always a gamble separating you …. And your money. I use my debit card in most orders ( who cares ? ) they run it thru non descript business names anyways.

Stick with seed banks that are trusted thru other growers ………. And drink DECAF.

I remember some of the early “ stealth “ shipping tricks and laugh about how many fucking junk phone cases my buddy has accumulated.
Or when TSSC ( no longer around so I can talk about them ) sent me an order inside a small box of marigold seeds .

PARANOIA SUCKS
Attitude sure sold a lot of cheap tshirts at dear prices for "stealth" shipping.

Ah yes the swag you had to purchase ….. hats , tshirts , towels , etc.

I remember having local bank unlock card to make international purchases …. Told them I wanted to buy tshirts off UK EBAY site.
After 5 minutes … I was golden. Bank never questioned purchases. No stupid Vanilla Visa burner card needed.

Love North Atlantic seeds - they take cards .
‘Zero problem.
