Clearly the republicans are worried about 1/6, it's the one thing that can hurt them badly in November. Both liberals and conservatives are concerned about the state of American democracy with polling in the 80% range for both groups. They have different concerns, but the issue of a threat to democracy can be best used to the democrats advantage. 1/6 was a singular even that caused tens of thousands of republicans to quit the party and even more independents to quit supporting the republicans. Most Americans are appalled at what happened at the Capitol and Trump's various schemes to overturn the election and the 1/6 panel will dine out on this shit for quite some time, there are a lot of moving parts involving several conspiracies and plots, with many guilty people, some of them are in the congress and a few in the senate.
Hopefully they can leverage some support out of the 1/6 investigation and public hearings. The court cases will also be important in disproving the big lie and there will be guilty pleas of underlings and indictments against others before the election. It looks near certain that Trump will be indicted in NY and should be on trial by summer and perhaps his family and company will be busted too. The republicans are in disarray, divided and when Donald goes, those divisions will grow as they struggle for power and position. Donald is also a wild card in all this, he's gonna get more mentally unstable as the walls close in, he could pull another Georgia, screaming to his base that the system is rigged and there's no point voting!
