Nice man looking good hows that widow90s smelling i heard good things about those seeds ?
It smells incredible, strongest peach smell of any plant I've grown. I'll run my other seeds of it at some point without mainlining, I think it would produce better with just LST. It's buds are a bit stunted, but they look pretty nice up close. It should end up some really choice smoke .

You're right, it's not like I would expect from a widow, but it's only one seed so I'm sure there are other phenos out there. I'll have to check that post out.

Well I noticed some leaf browning on the Old Red Sour today. I'm pretty sure it's light burn and it's not extensive yet, just showing up on 3-4 leaves. I checked the lux at those spots and it's just over 55k. During my first grow with the Fold-8, I noticed light burn starting at 55-60k, which is why light burn is my first guess. I've been expecting this since I've maxed out my headroom, so at this point I'm just going to let it ride and consider it a lesson learned-always leave yourself room to raise your light!!

The Blue-D #5 actually is slightly higher than this leaf since I raised it a few inches on blocks, so I'm curious if it will also start doing this. In the past, I've noticed it is really plant dependent, some can take it, others can't. So I think I'll leave it for now, and just take out the blocks if I see any develop. Here is a bud shot for you, I thought it looked pretty nice until I noticed the dog hair LOL...I hate that. I usually do a good job at keeping the hair away but with a husky around, there are always a few floaters.

Hey all, I just realized, I'm creeping up on 7 weeks since 12/12. The plants are all looking great except for a bit of light burn on the Old Red Sour that hasn't progressed much. I just measured the distance from the light to those buds and it's exactly 16 inches, which is where I began to see light burn last time. So I think 16-20 inches is going to be a good distance to shoot for for anyone else considering running a Fold-8 at 80% in a 4x4 tent without co2.

The Old Red Sour is a producer, it really got that good f1 vigor and I bet it would produce massive colas with fewer primary bud sites. This plant has 30 primary bud sites and it's still forming decent buds:

The Blue D #5 is starting to show some color, but it still smells straight up OG:

The Petrol Skunk didn't form the massive colas it did last time when it had just 8 colas, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I'm hopeful that the dreaded botrytis will leave this poor girl alone!

Great work but
For the record I respect you more for having a bit of “dog hair”
Blessed ;)
Thank you! Honestly, it only bothers me when I see one in pictures. Living with a husky, hair mitigation is constant, vaccuming, brushing, hepa air filters...even then sometimes I wake up and he's lying on my face and I probably inhaled 50 hairs before I woke up.

Saturday morning update! Just over week 7, looking forward to the final month (ish) of swelling and ripening. The terps on these are outstanding, the exhaust vent smells amazing.
Here is a pic with flash just for fun:

looks promissing.
always catch myself too smelling the exhaust.

looks like youre a bit camp pro deleaf?
You noticed! What I've been doing is leaving on as many fan leaves as possible in the canopy until the buds gain most of their size, then I start taking off a few just to open it up for more light in the home stretch. I probably removed a dozen large fan leaves yesterday. I'm positive that fan leaves power bud growth, but I also agree that exposure to direct light creates quality in your buds, and also maturity, so I figured I'd try to balance both. Get them to size first, then expose more to light in the final month once size is mostly set and they're just gaining in weight. Just experimenting with a little late stage defol rather than early.

a very delicate topic, haha.
i havent decided for a camp, prob end up like you do, a bit here and there where it seems to make sense.
your late flower deleafing sounds plausible.
i just delafed a bit my smaller tent beeing week 4 and its itching in my fingers to delaf a bit more my beginning week 7 tent.
as i say i have no final conclusion, i would second that lower buds getting light then clearly mature better, get bigger etc.
i can not say how big the impact is on the tops and how important the leaves are as nutrient reserve in the final swell.
its one of the hardest parts growing to figure out whats ideal there i think.

When I grow with fewer primary bud sites, I do very little defoliation except for under the canopy. I've tried it every kind of way, and my highest yields were with the low defol grows. I just have a lot more shading this time which concerns me. I've said before I do like my larf, but not at the expense of quality tops- just in addition. I've tried lollipopping in the past and it definitely reduces larf....but it did nothing to increase my quality top bud yields. Now I just strip the leaves and sucker branches, but leave the popcorn buds growing up the stem just for making hash. Leaving those on doesn't impact air flow or quality bud yields. It's good to experiment though, over and over again, it just makes you pay attention to each grow and sometimes you discover something unexpected.
