Hey there!
This is my first grow. It's inside a 2x4 tent.
I'm using a 320w Kingbrite LED and using organic soil.
I started with Primal Earth soil and after about a month I added some Gaia's fertilizer (3 to 1 ratio of their regular 4-4-4 organic powder fertilizer and their powder bloom fertilizer. my local shop advised me to start with this and then ultimately reverse the ratio during flowering so that it's 3:1 in the other direction.)
I'm doing low-stress-training on this particular plant.
It's a photo seed, strain is Blue Cheese from JAH Seeds.
I have a oscalating tower fan in the corner of the tent, near the little opening vent on the side of the tent, that I keep open.
I have an Inkbird controller attached to a small heater outside of the tent, and a humidifier inside of the tent to maintain 55-60% humidity and 72-75 degrees temperature.
I've used a pH testing kit and as far as I can tell, the runoff from my soil is below 7, and my tap water is closer to 7ish, it's hard to tell the exact number using the color guide on the side of the bottle. I did water with distilled water once or twice, but I've also used tap water and bottled water because I wasn't sure exactly what to do and figured I'd hedge my bets by using different things lol.
I have a TDS reader that I dunk into water, my tap water reads at around 180 but I'm not sure how accurate it is because I have a bottle of water that says it's around 290 PPM on the bottle, and that reads at around 190 with my tool.
I have a few other plants in the tent that I started a week or two later than this first one. I planted this initial seed about a month and a half ago. I started one seed before I had my full setup done just to see if it would germ, then started a couple more once everything was setup.
I'm seeing some small holes on a few of my leaves which definitely looks like damage from a lil bug. So far, it only seems to be showing up on this one plant, which is unfortunately my further along plant.
I was planning to let it grow until this biggest one is ready to flip, but then flip all of them at the same time since I only have one tent and with this first grow, if I get anything out of it I'll consider that a big win.
However, these holes in the leaves are starting to make me nervous!
Should I remove my biggest, oldest plant from the tent to protect the other plants, should I keep it in there but sprinkle some diatomaceous earth on the top of the soil? If I remove it, I think it will die since the basement is chillier outside of the tent and the air is quite dry.
I also have a bottle of concentrated Safer's (This one specifically https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07XB2HXLF ) that I could use if there's no other possible cause for these holes other than bugs.
Should I also treat the planst that aren't showing signs of bugs yet? Maybe just the diatomaceous earth as a preventative measure, or is therre something better I should use to prevent further damage on the still-healthy looking plants?
I check the leaves for bugs whenever I turn on the light, but I'm not seeing anything. I know they'll probably be tiny, especially since the holes aren't that huge yet and there aren't too many yet, but I imagine if there's a little worm buddy in there he'll only get bigger and bigger.
Are there any other possible causes for this type of damage to leaves? I'll add a few pictures including leaves on the plant, and one that I cut off to inspect more closely.

Edit: It does look like caterpillar holes to me, I couldn't find anything that looked like this damage until right after I posted this thread apparently LOL.. but would still love to hear everyone's thoughts.
Edit 2: Oh god, just read an article that said caterpillars are some of the most dreaded problems for a grower to have, I hope they're being hyperbolic, but I'm feeling the dread!!
