Are you using the bspec or rspec? I have been using the rspec for maybe 6months now and 250watts just ain't enough, I am ready to buy a new lamp already.
RSpec. I couldn’t Justify both. I can use my trusty old HID for veg to keep the electrical down. Disappointed with the HLG. I went in with big expectations. Like for like in performance compared to the SF-2000 it replaced.

Does the 69 control require GPS location permission like the 67 control?
It' so cool being tracked by my fan. :fire:
Good question. It probably will based on using the same app to configure both units. Maybe someone who has hands on, early access experience can chime in here. Unless they only shared units with YouTubers….

I can see that....I made some nice improvements on this current grow from the last....the buds are much bigger and the grow went smoother but I also corrected some mistakes. I am sure the light had some role in my improved quality, but I think not fucking my plants feeding up probably played a much bigger part. I have a ts1000 and sf1000 for veg and I am thinking of putting the hlg in with them when I replace it with the fc4800...2 400watt tents seems like a good call.

The 300l is a good light, just overpriced imo...lesson learned.

I’d like to get at least a year out of my HLG 300L. If AC Infinity create single point of light source (Look up RedSea160s - imagine that LED fixture with warm white/red LED combo. It’s very similar in performance to a true HID/HPS fixture with the stadium lens they use. I’d be interested in making the jump to new lights then. Imo: QBs are still too T5 like in terms of usable PAR. I can’t get the same under canopy penetration. I still can’t replicate the performance of a 600w HPS in terms of flower density, let alone CMH. Don’t get me wrong, I’m achieving a good 80% density @ half the running cost. I’m not complaining. Hopefully AC Infinity will look into it. And not just replicate old COB style or QB technology. There are other inovations in LED tech out there that could trickle into the horticulture industry. AC Infinity seem like they’re on a mission anyway. I love it
I use a weird sized tent... it's 32"x60"x80" so five feet wide, 2 and 2/3rds feet deep and six and a half feet tall. It fits the space I had pretty exactly, but having wide-but-shallow made for some lighting creativity. The HLG 225's are closer to 'single point source' lights (really tight quantum boards with reflectors) so they sort of act more like traditional bulbs...but they're really best for 2.5x2.5' or 3x3'. I could have gotten away with 2 of them, but 3 gives me more firepower than needed, and I can dim them in different combinations depending on what I have under them at a given time.

So, given that, I'm not in a hurry to move on from them. Also, I like the build and form factor. Here's what they look like hung in the space (note that the fan setup has changed and I only use boxes in early veg when I'm balancing out plants that are shorter than others).

Have you considered some light underneath?? I got a bunch of the Wills 150W panels when they were clearing out for $43 and they are cheap enough to put a few on the floor giving full illumination throughout top to bottom.

That’s a good call. Lesson well and truly learned.I think I expected more from the additional red spectrum.

I’d like to try upping the PAR beyond 1000-1500μMol/m2/s but adding in intermittent dimming, to replicate the sun/clouds. I have a feeling it could help improve density. Tittering on the edge of DLI limits. I think it’s worth a shot. In theory that’s possible with the controller 69 right? Custom intensity during different time/period of the day. Basically replicating clouds.

I have considered it, like T5s in the day for sup lighting. It’ll definitely work. I think I’m trying to get something from LED that doesn’t exist yet. I do have a few LED strips, Secret Jardins Tleds or something. I picked them up for germination tent that ultimately never got used. I’ll try that out on the next photo grow. I have autos on at moment. They’d be too hard to see if there’s any gains. They’re happy under the HLG alone. I’ll clip a cheese clone of old faithful and try it out next time. All led, no HID veg.

I see the replication of nature aspect of wanting to do that, but seems like too much tinkering to me. The whole point of my indoor grow is to control the environment and I prefer my plants get nothing but warm sunny days and light breezes. I don't have a desire for clouds or long sunrises/sets in my grow room.

From what I can tell, yeah, you should be able to do this. You could also simulate dawn and dusk conditions, though it would be even slicker to integrate some red-frequency lights during those periods too.

I’m interested. I’d like to see how it impacts RH etc with gradual environmental changes vs on/off. Time will tell if it’s worth the extra effort.

This is what I should’ve looked into originally Impulse buy for sure at my local grow shop. the 225s do seem like a better replacement for HID for sure. For some reason I missed these entirely.:wall: Thanks for sharing!

They market them as comparable/upgrade from 315W CMH lights. Which makes sense if you're used to single-point reflector lamps. I got 'sale' price, so not the full $300 they ask, but not cheap. For me it was sort of worth it to have a US made product (more for safety reasons and/or ability to reach out and talk with their people easily). My 'dislike' is that the driver has a recessed dimmer adjustment screw that can be hard to engage.

I'm running autos right now and even with them cranked up as far away from my plants as possible and turned down they're hitting DLI's in the 40-50 range dimmed back (18/6). Next round will be photos and I think the extra firepower will be great for 12/12. Since the tent is under 3' deep, I don't worry so much about having the PPFD spread be uneaven since at center there's less than 1.5' on either side of center.

I really like the recent upgrades to the ACI app though...adding the VPD to the display & to the graphing is really nice, though I'm really only looking at my average since it's all over the map once you look at lights-on vs. lights off and all that. Also, in flower the idea of keeping my humidity as high as you'd need to hit ideal VPD at 78-83F degrees looks like an open invite for mildew or other issues. I really shoot for 45-55% range throughout the day.

Im in the market again for a new light, I was going to try out the ES 300 V3 this time around (330 watt).
