Convoy? ..Convoy!

"Let's go dipshits", is increasingly being applied to the cops, as well as the convoy of covidiots, by counter protesters.

Here is what the single dose vaccination rates look like in Canada, note the high rates in the Atlantic provinces, over 90%, with Newfoundland & Labrador at over 101%! In Ontario, where most of the antivaxxer protests have been happening, they have close to a 90% single dose rate among those 5+YO. Where I live in NS the rate is 92.4%, with the vaxx resistant mostly 18 to 30 YOs. More importantly, young people are tired of restrictions, time passes slower for the young and having this screw up your 18 to 20 years, has more impact than on the older stay at home crowd. Think back, those two years of youth had more living packed in than the last 20 of old age!

i think they did a pretty good job overall, no one was shot, they didn't need the fire hoses and zip ties...
it might be a good idea if they had a little class about the importance of presenting a unified front, and not supporting an opponent in public view....no matter what your views are in private, when you put on a uniform, your views are the views of the department, and if you can't support those views, don't put on the uniform...
Whatever works best, I don't need to see heads busted unless it's required and Ottawa is yet to be cleared of hardcore idiots. The population turning on them and the cops, will have an impact, cause the counter protests will grow rapidly, if they don't fuck off soon. Clearing Ottawa and parliament hill are the reasons for the feds invoking the emergency powers act, unless the government is seen to be taking action, the public will. The governments and especially the cops are gonna be caught in a vice soon, but one side of the jaws will fire the fuckers, if they have to take to the streets and do their jobs for them!

the world sees Canadians as pretty pacifistic, but you piss em off enough and they'll stand up...guess it's a good thing you all don't all own guns, after all

DoFo caved to the truckers.

He's being consistent with other places who are dropping mandates, too soon IMHO, but it will take the wind out of the protesters sails and allow them to "save face". The ones who will be hurt the most are the unvaxxed who have a 97 times increased chance of dying from covid than the boosted. They are mostly screwing themselves and ya can't save someone from themselves.

Mandates are dropping because hospitalization rates are dropping, as the omicron wave passes through. It will be the state of the hospitals that determine future restrictions and with antiviral medications that could be low.

I have tickets to see the Arkells at the end of April, so I was kinda hoping most of the occupancy restrictions were gone by then. At least he didn't drop the mask mandate... I bet it's gone by March if things continue the way they are.

If we don't get hit with any new more contagious variants, it's my hope we can cruse into summer. We will have antiviral medications and they give people a course to take at home, early in the infection, keeps them out of the hospital. We will also have omicron specific vaccines by spring, we are still working with vaccines for the original strains. This is becoming endemic and we need to adjust, younger people especially can't live like this for long without being very unhappy, us old farts can easily hunker down at home!

Canada's Trudeau to use emergency powers to end demonstrations: report
Sources told Canada's CBC News that Trudeau intends to tell the premiers on Monday about his decision to invoke the act, which has never been used before.
During the meeting with the Liberal caucus on Monday, Trudeau added that there were no plans to deploy the military at this time, CBC reported.

The Emergencies Act gives the prime minister the authority to deal with public welfare, public order, international and war-related emergencies. Specifically, it allows the prime minister to "take special temporary measures that may not be appropriate in normal times," the outlet added.

It is intended for a time of national emergency, which is defined as an "urgent and critical situation" that "seriously endangers the lives, health or safety of Canadians and is of such proportions or nature as to exceed the capacity or authority of a province to deal with it."

U.S. officials including Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg have pressed their Canadian counterparts to use federal powers to bring an end to the blockades, which have disrupted cross-border trade and the auto industry in particular.
Trudeau has previously said that his government would be willing to “respond with whatever it takes” to address the problems.

It is a shame that the database is taken down, it would be nice to be able to check that nobody is using your name to make bullshit donations using other peoples' info.

This guy needs a deep dive for donating $90k to this political engineered attack on our economy. And if it was not him he needs to come out and do some serious explaining.

look carefully at that...they aren't landing blows....just throwing arms at chests...
maybe the guy in red is hitting the helmet, it's hard to tell...
and the fact that you had to go to a hockey gif to display Canadian's violent tendencies is telling, when we get the same display of violence from people shopping at Walmart...with no helmets and no pads...

is this person at walmart guilty of bad dental hygiene? , or were they knocked out in an argument over who gets the last can of vienna sausages?
or maybe it was both?

That would be so awesome. it seems every time things seem to be looking up they slam the door closed on us again. In the past 18 months my partner has been laid off three different time for a total of 10 months. Even six months of stability would be sweet.
