First time grower ☘️ is it really necessary to do LST ?

With a stretchy haze variety I reckon the best bet is to top it for 4 heads let them recover and grow abit then flip it. A 4 way top isn’t out of the realms of a beginners capability and it will be so much less maintenance and headache than lst. That is my advice to you as a beginner. Top for 4 main stems and lollipop. Once u get a harvest under ur belt you’ll feel far more comfortable tying and bending stuff.
Hope this helps
Hmm... I honestly feel better about lst, than topping, but I like the lolipop idea.

Honestly though, I'm still searching for tutorials before I consider that.

I'm going to see how my plants grows on their own without any intervention, until they look healthy enough to do that. ☮

So LST allows you to fill the space better too. If you're looking for tall plants with good colas I would try a little LST because it is a good tool to have but I would recommend topping. The one I topped got me A LOT more yield with just one topping.

Also do you have a plan when they bud big? They top over and I found planning for that easier than trying to fix it when it happens. Kill two birds with one stone and make a scrog on your windowsil. You can train them and add support for the buds later
Any videos that show you how to properly Top/Lst?

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but your light isn't what you were sold on. It will grow plants but not very big. Light penetration is minimal, the further from the diode. It's also not a true 2000w. Definitely a good beginner light and the price was right.
I think it's perfectly fine for 3 Plants.

My research suggests that you need 50 watts of power per plant minimum.

But heat and par/umols are going to be important.

I've been really busy studying. ☮

Look if u really want to make a go of growing something that’s nice to smoke and be proud of, invest in a cheap grow tent and an exhaust fan .

I know plants look cool and it’s a statement piece when people walk into ur spot and see a lovely lady all happy stood on the window sil basking in the sunlight, maybe there’s a nice girl across the street? U seen her smoking a pipe from ur window? I bet she’d think you’re pretty cool with 3 7ft haze plants stood on your windowsill? , but in all honesty you’re not gonna be able to keep them happy and you’re gonna be gutted that you wasted the time and the electricity.

put them in a tent, read about creating and maintaining an environment suited for vegging and flowering cannabis. Then think about how you’re gonna train them, wether you top And lst, bend them over horizontal, 4 main top whatever, but rethink their home. Even a cupboard/closet/wardrobe is better than a window sil.

sorry to kill the dream my friend but we all want you to succeed, and window weed isn’t gonna cut it

Hope this helps and doesn’t come across dickish

I don't have enough room or money for a grow tent right now..

But I am considering it for the future.

You didn't kill my dreams, don't worry. ☮

Here or on YouTube?
He’s been banned from here, so his tutorial is gone, lots of people regurgitating the technique though, and I don’t think it’s actually his technique he just documented it, it involves cutting the growth from above the 2nd true node, when you do this the plant will develop into 4 branches of pretty equal size, nice and symmetrical, those 4 branches won’t stretch nearly as much as the plant would have if you had just let it grow naturally

Hmm

Banned from here?

That doesn't sound good.

I actually want my plants to get tall compared to width.

These are ornaments aren’t they lol? have a look at some bonsai cannabis, some fantastic examples. If you want them to get tall then yeah mate just leave them to grow naturally. But get urself a cupboard or tent or some sort of enclosed space, some brilliant diys on here and YouTube.

So you plan on growing 3 plants on that window sill, and putting your light above them as well?

Has it a blind or something for when the lights on? small footprint to grow 3 plants. Autos I presume?

Yes I have ways to keep out the light.
I'm also growing more plants on the other side of the window some wild flowers and strawberries.

When it comes time for the bloom cycle I will put an auto shade and close the blinds.
Don't get that much light here in the window.

It's 2:00 right now and you can see that it's not that bright.

Right now only getting about 15 minutes of direct light from the sun.

Watch that humidity in bloom!!

If you got lights powerful enough, why even fuck with the window? Sounds like a giant waste of time. Just get a space and use the artificial lights. Pretty simple.

As far as LST and topping and supercropping, I’d say try it all. Experiment and learn. It’s fastest way to figure out what works best for you. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.

I know what your saying. Just seemed off the wall to just come out say I have 2 grand in equipment like the op asked what you got and how much spent. Like you had a huge pocket put into your grow. 2 grand sounds like you just started as well.
My budget was 500 bucks lol. How far you think that got me hahaha. To the op, you seem like you have some growing experience maybe not bud but at least you have an idea. I would try one first and just do minimal like you want and see how it goes. If you get to harvest successfully then pop the other 2. Just an idea. Good luck

Im going to weigh in on the opposite side, I myself find LST very useful and I will never not LST. I start LST process around 4 weeks or so, after the plant has developed about 4-5 nodes. I find by topping and training this allows for better structure, increases yields, and over all a better plant. If you are just planning for a fast run then LST may not be suitable but for someone like myself who does over 9 month veg runs LST is an absolute must.
9 month veg? Whoa
