Me, I start LST early to break apical dominance. That way I don't have to top. I just remove excess branches.

I think what I really need is a big fat lolipop.
Because I'm limited in my width.
Not sure if I'll be able to make too many bud sites,I don't think I want to top, because that'll make my plants shorter.

It may be, but I vegged that plant for 8 weeks before the training. You would just be vegging less in a smaller place.

I keep the braches growing mostly sideways in veg so every node would grow two new tops and every node on those would grow two new tops and so on. It would end up much too thick of a bush if I didn't remove quite a few.
How about a pic of the grow site? That would help for one.

Note that the height I'm working with from top to bottom of window is about 5.5 feet
And my width is about 38 inches.

Just enough space for three 3 gallon pots.
At least width and length...
But definitely more height.
The 5.5 feet vertical includes the measurements from the top of the pots.
So it's 5.5 total, not including the lights, which would take some of my height limits away , thinking about 4.5 feet tall max plant height.

This one is gorilla glue#4.
You asked what topping, lst together could do, so I was showing my version. Like I mentioned earlier you could just try one to get your feet wet. My plant I shared could just fit in the 38" and it's 4'+ tall from top of tote. The tote is 14", so 5ish ft tall total.
More of a part of lollipopping. You take the sites off as it grows b4 they turn into branches.
