First time grower ☘️ is it really necessary to do LST ?

I think what I really need is a big fat lolipop.

Because I'm limited in my width.

Not sure if I'll be able to make too many bud sites,I don't think I want to top, because that'll make my plants shorter.
When you top you are cutting on the top grow to give the rest a chance to catch up and to develope 2 chutes in place of the one top. All growth will eventually grow past where you topped probably within a week. You can still have tall plants they will just have a wider more even canopy.

Also growing on your windowsill on a city street so that people can see is pretty dumb and a serious security risk.. even if most of the people think its pretty cool all ot takes is one tweaker to see that and know he has a plan b if he runs out of money..

Tents are not that expensive you can get a nice tent for less than 100 bucks that will make it easier for you to control your environment, reflect more light, and keep your grow safe from prying eyes.

Growing weed is not fast you will have months invested in this. Why not take the extra step to make sure you have the best harvest you can get. And you will learn much more on a practical grow like that than trying to stick to your window sill because you think it's cool. If you don't care about the quality or harvest and just want to have weed plants in your window go for it. Sounds like a waste of time to me though, and unnecessary attention.

In a windowsill, you are going to see uneven growth on one side without supplemental lighting, and the plants will probably stretch a lot. You might end up needing to prune the side not getting window light.. I would not grow Sativa unless you have at least 8 foot from the top of your pots. Maybe look at vertical growing? Make a reflective shield to bounce light around the other side of the plant?

I appreciate your concern but this is a secure building in San Francisco. ☮

And I don't have room for a grow tent in my apartment.

I'm literally tucked away from the city street there's no one that is on the city street that can see my place. ☮

But thank you. ☮

I already have supplemental lighting.
Got reflective material too! ☮

I have a really nice grow light it's a 2000 equivalent but 220 draw full spectrum with Bloom boost and Samsung LEDs

Vertical growing for sure, I have plenty of height. Can do 5 feet headroom even with lights.

Growing some Purple Haze ☮
They are medium height indoors, so all good.

I got everything that I need, (well still need a dehumidifier) just have to think about what I'm going to do for my plants in the future.

I think so far I might do a little bit of low stress training and perhaps topping but definitely going to defoliate the bottom third of the plant and the stems because I definitely want my bud sites to get equal light

I'm going to save this post and prove you wrong. ☮
There is a lot of experience in this thread(not me) and we don't want to see you fail but, sometimes you gotta just do it and learn. Sometimes it's the hard way sometimes it's easy peasy. I think you could pull it off with one well trained to fill that space. I honestly think you could get as much off the one if you put all your effort into it than you will if you put all three. Just my final 2 cents. Make sure you post a harvest pic so we can see. Probably gonna be half as much if you follow breeders timelines. Best of luck supergirl of san Francisco lol.

I'll just be over here bongsmilie

I've got three Purple Haze seeds that I'm going to be planting here soon... And as a first time grower even though I have grown other vegetables and what not I just wanted to make sure that I'm going to have a good experience I don't want to have to do anything that would really put my plant at risk although I do see that low stress training when done probably can really help I'm just honestly concerned about you know losing my first plants and my first grow.

So what would happen if I just let it grow naturally and do nothing to the plant except just take care of it and don't worry about any sort of cropping or defoliation or topping or low stress training?

I mean I'm not against the idea of doing LST, although maybe LSD is better. ️

So I just like to get some more input about this before I even begin to go on my growing journey which is looking to be about March 1st right now.

Thank you. ☮
How have you been a member 7 years and this is your first grow???

No it says: Flowering 63 days.
That does not count your seedling and veg time.
That's very misleading then..

Why would they say that it's harvest Time then..

It says 63 to 70 days until harvest.

That wouldn't give you any indication about how long to leave it in the veg state.

Just how long should you leave Purple Haze in it's vegetative state?

I mean isn't there a normal cycle for the plant when it's out in the sun?

Cuz if that's the case I would like to achieve the best yields possible and let it grow the way that it was genetically designed to grow.

I know that Photoperiods rely on the light change and other factors, but

What's a good time to switch to

I just don't think the person who posted that realized that I have a grow light. ☮
