Please for the love of god - destroy the republicans , let Jesus sort them out.

These fuckin MAGA idiots need to go straight to hell … by any means necessary.

Funny enough the couple morons looking to get their name in the press are the ones taking pictures of a secure call with a president of a allied nation in a city that is surrounded by Putin's troops looking to kill him.

This reminds me of the time that Trump tweeted out that Pelosi and the Democrats were going into a war zone that he refused to give them military support, forcing them to turn around because that also could have gotten them killed.

Stevie Wonder could do a better job Photoshopping.
Worst shit I've ever seen.
they do that shit, whether that is a real image or not...there are several "Persians" living in my area, i've talked to a lot of them, they seem surprised that we don't do shit like that here. If you are in Iran and you openly question the leadership, the Quran, or commit any of a myriad of moral "crimes" you get stoned, hung, burned alive....

Daines is just a fuckhead, but Rubio is vice chairman of the intelligence committee...a post he is clearly not qualified to fill, if this is how seriously he takes requests from foreign allies that are under attack...and no amount of rationalization is going to justify it

Most of the Russian arsenal is tactical and stored, the big boys are another matter and there are probably a couple of thousand of those, with about 500 at sea in subs, we know where they are. I doubt Vlad would use tactical nukes in Ukraine, the only targets are cities and the consequences for him personally might be immediate.
tactical implies close range weapons, "Strategic" is for long range
russia has about 2400 Strategic nukes, and about 1600 tactical units spread over their territories. they may have as many as 14000 nuclear weapons stockpiled, but it is estimated that most of them are not operational, either too old or too delicate, or no delivery systems

Feels so unreal, as a kid I remember my uncle having to go to the army every few months to fight the communists.
My dad was disabled so we were one of the few households that didn't have an R15 rifle in the cupboard.
Almost everything bad they said would happen if the communists take over, happened...but we are still here... People are tough as fuck apparently.

Now the whole world gets to correct this evil.

There is a saying in the US when a conflicted white man triggers over a sweeping statement about racist white men.

The dog that is hit howls.
Very common expression here too. Usually in the form of “this happened/was said and now he’s (acting like he is) the bitten dog”. Good to know it’s used in US too, I avoid sayings in almost every post, nearly impossible in my own langauge. Makes it very hard for immigrants to understand for example covid press conferences from PM. Recently when I posted about Macron I was about to post “you can leave your children behind with him”

Anyway, I completely understand the reluctance and sensitivity of sending US troops or US going directly to war. I read several articles about how Biden administration was surprised to see the EU’s fast and united cooperation against Russia. Some explain it by the fact many countries here were occupied not that long ago and the US hasn’t experienced that. Sure, both my grandparents barely survived the last world war, I’m daily reminded by war memorials and series, movies, docus etc, but what we don‘t have recent experience with is soldiers returning in coffins or wheelchairs. When we think of “veterans”, we think of 80+ year old Canadians above all, not of hundreds of thousands of relatively young men and women with ptsd. They’re not wrong though, it’s like some people here see it a second chance to beat up Hitler.

I question does it really matter? Either way we’re fucked at the push of the first button :(.
the russians have 11 subs equipped with nuclear missiles. we (NATO and the U.S.) have at least 22.
russian subs are pretty advanced, the newer ones are very close to the quality of American subs. it is easy to say we'll just sink them before they launch, but that is a pretty arrogant statement. if even one russian sub escapes destruction, it could obliterate 3 or 4 major cities along the coast, say New York, DC, Philly, and Charlotte...the capital and the three largest east coast cities...

Regardless of the “ caliber “ of nuclear armament russia possesses ( tac / icbm / hypersonic ) like the
BrahMos missile system developed with india .

The most troubling “ Device “ would be Russia’s Tsar bomb.

That alone would be the end of it all.
as far as anyone knows, they only ever built the one they dropped as a test...it would indeed be bad if they had a stockpile of them

Believe it or not w/the folly the Russian military has shockingly shown the world,BUT I think the Russians have recently modernized their ICBM's think the NATO code word is SATAN and it's brand new,The US has come to terms w/the ridiculous use of nukes and has been trying to de-emphasize them in favor of precision conventional weaponry, thus we haven't been developing new nukes w/much emphasis until recently looking at our aging triad and deciding to modernize due to Russia's new deployed systems and intelligence indicating China is about to go in big on new nuke developement. Putin has been strutting like a proud rooster mentioning them several times even before this crisis.

The SSBN's are the most survivable aspect of nuclear deterence, a captain of a trident submarine can launch 24 missiles ,each missile w/MIRV carries up to 8 warheads each for a max of 192 nuclear warheads, each about 220 kilotons,ONE boat can pretty much end civilization. The game between detection by surface and hunter subs is basically a war up to the point where no one releases weapons and has been going on stealthily since the late 50's early 60's.,it's all about noise. One Russian sub, theoretically, can end life as we know it.

I imagine the US does most of its trade with Europe so if Europe goes belly up, things turn into a shitshow anyway. the fact that the shit is a few thousand miles away means nothing in the world we live in today.

I like it. "You said or did this and now YOU are acting like the bitten dog." I will use it. Thanks. Its a great response to jerks who cry grievance whenever they run into opposition to their jerk ways. "Acting like they were bitten".

Wondering if all that ill gotten gain ( super yachts for example ) would be used for target practice …

They like many American billionaire's consider themselves global citizens and every country welcomes them and their money. Many of these Russians looked at these yachts as security and a portable home outside Russia incase of trouble with Vlad or other shit. They could live comfortably on their stashed money in the west cruising to friendly ports of call in nice places. All that turned to shit overnight, they lost their Yacht's (mansions) and their cash abroad and are now trapped with Putin in Russia and he will be bleed them white of any remaining money like an old fashioned commie. Life sucks sometimes, for the people in Ukraine too.

Here is an idea that might be considered by the state department. A UN force of Chinese troops (peace keepers) would guarantee humanitarian corridors in Ukraine. This might appeal to China, they're always looking for good PR, would put the heat on Vlad, show case their military and there would be Chinese troops in a western country for a change! Why Xi could even get a Nobel peace prize out of the deal!

I wonder about unintended consequences. The Chinese act for their not-always-transparent reasons.
